How to Stand Still and Know that Jehovah Sabaoth is God

How to stand still and know that Jehovah Sabaoth is God

Be still and know that I am God (Psalm 46:10) is a great Bible verse for dealing with stressful problems.

This is due to the fact that it urges you to calm yourself down and it reminds you that God is still God controlling your stressful situation even if your enemies are trying to show you that they are the gods controlling it.
Be still and know that I am God Psalm 46:10

However, there are some situations where in adding to being still and knowing that God is in control of your situation, you also have to stand still and see the salvation of the Lord.

Those situations are when the devil has taken a stand against you. We can see this when armies from Ammon, Moab and Mount Seir attacked King Jehoshaphat and the Israelites because God spoke through His spirit and told them, "Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord." (2 Chronicles 20:17)

We can also see this when Moses and the Israelites found themselves trapped between the Egyptian army and the Red Sea for Moses told them,  “Do not be afraid. Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord.” (Exodus 14:13)

Therefore when the enemy has taken a stand against you to steal, kill or destroy you in any form or fashion, you have to Stand Still and expect to see the salvation of the Lord.
Do not be afraid. Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord Exodus 14:13

How to Stand Still
To stand still knowing that Jehovah Sabaoth (The Lord of Hosts) is God and as you expect to see His salvation you have to do the following:

1. Put on the whole armor of God
Put on the whole armor of God so that you may be able to stand against the tricks of the devil. ...

Take up the whole armor of God so that you may be able to withstand in the evil day and having done all, to stand.

Stand therefore having put on the belt of truth,
having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
having put on the shoes of the gospel of peace,
above all take the shield of faith with which you will be able to put out all the fiery darts of the wicked one.
And put on the helmet of salvation,
and take the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God. (Ephesians 6:11-17)

To put on this armor of God you have to confess your sins to God so that you can start on a clean slate by saying with your mouth that "Jesus is Lord" and believing in your heart that when He died for our sins God raised Him from the dead and you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)

After getting saved (helmet of salvation
be truthful (belt of truth
do the right thing in the sight of God (breastplate of righteousness)
read your Bible every day (shoes of the Gospel)
believe God's Word when the enemy tells you something different (shield of faith)
speak God's Word (sword of the Spirit which is God's word)
Put on the whole armor of God so that you may withstand the evil day and having done all continue standing. Truth, righteousness, the Gospel, faith, salvation and the Word of God. Ephesians 6

You can put on God's armor right now by getting saved and making a conscious effort to be truthful and righteous from this moment onward.

Then, read a passage of the Bible that speaks about the things that the devil is trying to destroy and decide to believe it whenever negative thoughts about that situation enter your mind.

Combine this with speaking relevant Scriptures about your situation from your mouth.

For example, if the enemy has taken a stand against your job, get saved right now if you are not saved or if you have backslidden (see above) and then decide you will be truthful and always do the right thing at your place of work and in all the facets of your life.
You can then choose a Bible passage like, God opens and no one can shut (Revelation 3:7) and decide to believe it and confess it whenever you find yourself thinking you will lose your job.

God opens and no one can shut Revelation 3:7

2. Position Yourself
After putting on the armor of God, you now have to position yourself in your strategic position.

3. Do your Best
After putting on your armor and placing yourself in your strategic position you have to do the best that you can.

This includes doing spiritual activities like praying and physical ones like working.

Then, Having done all, continue stand. (Ephesians 6:13)

This means that after having done everything you can do about your stressful situation, you have to continue standing still your strategic position as you expect to see the salvation of God.

Even if nothing has changed for the better in your situation after you have done everything that you can humanly do, do not think about giving up or going back or sitting down

Just continue standing still in your strategic position as you expect to see the salvation of God because you know that Jehovah Sabaoth is God over it and He will fight for you
