Scriptures on the Devices of the Devil

The following are some of the devices of the devil and schemes that satan uses to attack God's people:
Accusations
Satan accused Job of being blameless and upright before God because God had made a hedge of protection around him, his household and all his possessions in addition to blessing the work of his hands and ensuring that his possessions increased. (Job 1:9-10)

Confusion
When Nehemiah and the Israelites were rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem, their enemies Sanballat, Tobiah, the Arabs, the Ammonites and the Ashdodites heard that the walls of Jerusalem were being restored and the gaps were being closed, they became very angry and they conspired together to come and attack Jerusalem and create confusion. (Nehemiah 4:7-8)

Deception
After Joshua and the Israelites had crossed the River Jordan, the Gibeonites Worked craftily and went and pretended to be ambassadors. They carried old sacks on their donkeys, old wineskins which were torn and mended, wore old and patched sandals and put on old garments. The bread of their provision was also dry and moldy.

They went to Joshua… and said… "We have come from a far country; now, therefore, make a covenant with us." (Joshua 9:4-6)

Destruction
Numerous enemies would come to Israel after the Israelites had sown their seeds and destroy all that they could to ensure that the Israelites did not have any sustenance, sheep, ox or even donkeys left. As a result of the destruction, the Israelites were greatly impoverished. (Judges 6:1-6)
Devaluation
When David’s older brother Eliab heard him asking the reward for killing Goliath he asked David, “With whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know your pride and rudeness.” (1 Kings 17:28)

9 Devices of the Devil and How to Overcome them

Persistence
Samson was broken after Delilah Pestered him daily with her words and pressed him, so that his soul was vexed to death, so that he told her ... If I am shaven, then my strength will leave me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man.” (Judges 16:16-17)

Discouragement
When Nehemiah and the Israelites were rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem, one of their enemies, Tobiah the Ammonite, said, “Whatever they build, if even a fox climbs up on it, he will break down their stone wall.” (Nehemiah 4:3)

Distraction
When Nehemiah and the Israelites were rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem, their enemies sent him a message saying, “Come let us meet in the villages in the Ono plain” (Nehemiah 6:2) where they planned to harm him.
But Nehemiah did not let them distract him from doing his work for he sent messengers with the following reply, “I am doing a great work and therefore, I cannot come down. Why should the work cease while I leave it and go down to you?” (Nehemiah 6:3)

Strategies for Overcoming the Devices of the Devil
Strategies for overcoming the devices of the devil that you can use include:
Praying
Praying is one of the strategies for overcoming the devil's device of confusion since God is not the author of confusion, but of peace. (1 Corinthians 14:33) Therefore pray for God to show you the right course of action and ask Him to guard your mind with His peace which surpasses all understanding.

Praying will also help you overcome the devil's deception since the Gibeonites fooled the Israelites because the Israelites Did not ask counsel of the Lord. (Joshua 9:14) Therefore pray before you make any decision and ask God to show you what you should do.

Praying will also help you overcome the devil's distraction because when his enemies tried to distract him, Nehemiah says, We made our prayer to God and set a watch against them day and night. (Nehemiah 4:9) Therefore pray and ask God to help you maintain your focus on what He wants you to do so that you do not waste your time doing the devil's bidding.

Getting Saved
Getting saved is one of the strategies for overcoming the devil's device of destruction because Jesus says, The thief comes to steal, to kill and to destroy. I have come so that they may have life and have it more abundantly.” (John 10:10) Therefore say with your mouth that “Jesus is Lord” and believe in your heart that when He died for our sins, God raised Him from the dead and you will be saved. (Romans 10:9) After inviting Jesus into your life, ask Him to show you what you should do to begin enjoying the abundant life He brought.

Trusting God
Trusting God is one of the strategies for overcoming the devil's device of false accusation. Therefore trust that God will prove your innocence because The Lord is a God of justice and blessed are those who wait for Him. (Isaiah 30:18)

Encouraging Yourself
Encouraging yourself in the Lord is one of the strategies for overcoming the device of the devil of discouragement because David encourage himself in the Lord (1 Samuel 30:6) when  his wives were kidnapped and his men spoke of stoning him. Click here to learn How to Encourage Yourself in God.

Not Spending Your Time and Energy on the Enemy
Not spending your time and energy on the people that satan is using to attack you is one of the strategies for overcoming the devices of the devil because when Eliab humiliated David in public, David Turned away from Eliab (1 Samuel 17:30) and continued to focus on the challenge of killing Goliath. Therefore ignore your detractors and do not waste your time or energy arguing with them.

Joseph was also able to overcome seduction because he stopped spending time with his tempter for he Left his garment in the hand of Potiphar’s wife and fled outside. (Genesis 39:13)

Chances are that Samson could also have resisted Delilah's persistence if he did not spend his days and nights with her. Therefore limit the time you spend with those who are trying to destroy you.

  3. Please Know the Truth! The NIV, NLT, and Many New Versions of the Bible are Quietly Deleting Words and entire Scriptures from God's Holy Word!

Try to find Matthew 17:21… Not there, only a Footnote! “However, this kind does not go out except by Prayer and Fasting.”(Jesus own Words)

Why…? Prayer & Fasting are a Spiritual Weapon against the devil!

Try to find Luke 9:56…You Only find, “And they went to another village.” (For the Son of man did not come to destroy men's lives but to save them.) Deleted!

No Footnote, no reason, just Deleted! There are Over a Thousand Words Deleted from God's Holy Word! Please go and See for Yourselves! Be Blessed!

  4. It has been said that temptations is not the problem .it’s giving into it .there’s a fine line differences between temptations and test of faith . I believe temptations used by Satan prove Christian’s worthiness in his stance to his faith walk in Christ The aim is to cast down or kill the believer ‘s faith .but it is written ..with every temptations God will make a way , so we will not be tempted above that we are able to cope.
The test given by God is not to cast down but to build up, establish and strengthen the child of God .
God is not limited to whom or what he chooses to test his people with but whether inner or outward test or temptation there are but for a season and don’t last for
