Praying the Names and Characteristics of God

The names and characteristics of God

Regardless of your stressful situation, making positive confessions about God's power to deal with the situation is a very important part of prayer.

We can see this from the leper who came to Jesus And worshiped Him saying, "Lord if You are willing, You can make me clean."  (Matthew 8:2)

This leper confessed that Jesus was able to cure him of leprosy which was an incurable disease at that time, and his statement of faith was counted as worship.

Jesus then stretched out His hand, touched him and said, "I am willing. Be healedand immediately the man was cured of leprosy. (Matthew 8:3)

Therefore make positive confessions of God's power when you praying for God to deal with your problems.

You do this by addressing your prayers to God by using the name that corresponds to your need. You can also sing praise and worship songs that address God by the name that meets your need during your spiritual warfare sessions. For example if you need healing, you can address your prayers to Jehovah Rapha.
