The Caleb Difference Part 3

The Caleb difference that made him have a giant mentality rather than a grasshopper mentality is also seen in David when he faced the challenge of fighting a giant named Goliath.

We see this when King Saul told him, "You are not able to fight Goliath because you are just a youth and he has been a fighter from his youth." (1 Samuel 17:33)

However, since David had a giant mentality he replied and told the King, "I have killed both lion and bear and this Philistine will be like one of them.(1 Samuel 17:36)

Therefore cultivate your giant mentality by  speaking positive confessions about yourself that are in alignment with what the Word of God says about you because Faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God. (Romans 10:17)

Another great thing we can learn from David is that his confidence in his ability to fight Goliath the giant was combined with having confidence in God's ability to help him for he said, "The Lord who delivered me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.(1 Samuel 17:37)

Therefore emulate him and strengthen your giant mentality by combining faith in your own capabilities to deal with the challenge you are facing with faith in God's ability to help you deal with it effectively and do for you what you cannot do for yourself.

We see God's help in action because when David Took a stone, slung it and struck Goliath on his forehead, the stone sank into Goliath's forehead and he fell on his face. (1 Samuel 17:49) The fact that David's stone sank into Goliath's head even though he was wearing a bronze helmet (1 Samuel 17:5) tells us that the Lord's Arm (Numbers 11:23) was involved in directing and powering the stone that David threw.

Another thing we can learn from David to help us have a winning giant mentality, is to recall our past victories like he did when he said, "The Lord who delivered me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.(1 Samuel 17:37)

Therefore, when you are facing a gigantic problem, remind yourself of all the other gigantic problems you have faced in your past and say and believe that, "The Lord who delivered me from those problems last year, He will deliver me from these problems today".

If these are the first gigantic problems you are facing, say and believe that, "The Lord who delivered David from the lion and bear and Goliath, He will deliver me from these gigantic problems today" because it is still the same God that we are serving.

Saying with your mouth as you believe in your heart that the God who helped you yesterday is still able to help you today will therefore enable you to face today and all your tomorrows with confidence because you know that you the combination of God + you is able to take on any  challenges that life may bring.

This saying and believing in God's ability + your ability will also stop you from  demeaning yourself when you are facing gigantic problems because if the Israelites had said and believed that "The Lord who delivered us from the hand of Pharaoh and his army, He will deliver us from the hand of these giants in our Promised Land"  chances are they would not have seen themselves as grasshoppers facing giants and refused to fight. (Numbers 14)
