How to Fight Death with Bible Verses

Regardless of whether your life is threatened by diseases or people, you have to combine spiritual, verbal and physical interventions to form your own holistic deliverance ministry to fight for your life and deliver it from the spirit of death.

The first spiritual step is to pray. Learn from King Hezekiah when he was sick and about to die because he begun to pray. As a result of his prayers, God added 15 more years to his life even though Isaiah the prophet had already told him to set his house in order since he would die. (Isaiah 38:1-8)

Daniel, Shadrach, Meshack and Abednego also prayed when King Nebuchadnezzar issued a death warrant on all his wise men because they could not tell him his dream and interpret it for him. (Daniel 2:5) As a result of their prayers, God revealed the secret to Daniel in a night vision (Daniel 2:19) and he was able to explain the dream to Nebuchadnezzar and save their lives.

David also declared that When the waves of death surrounded me … I called upon the Lord. (2 Samuel 22:5-7) Therefore the first thing that you should do when your life is threatened by premature death is to pray because To God the Lord belong escape from death.  (Psalm 68:20)

As you pray, use Scriptures since the Word of God is the Sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17) that God has given us to fight with. We will therefore call the Scriptures that we will use to SWORD WORDS.

SWORD WORDS or Scriptures that you can use as personal deliverance prayers to fight for your life include:

1. Father God I ask You in the name of Jesus to lift me up from the gates of death so that I may tell of all Your praise. (Adapted Psalm 9:13-14)

2. Father God I ask You in the name of Jesus to deliver me and save me for Your mercies’ sake since in death there is no remembrance of You and no one gives You thanks in the grave. (Adapted Psalm 6:4-5)

3. Father God I ask You in the name of Jesus to preserve those who are appointed to die by the greatness of Your power. (Adapted Psalm 79:11)

4. Father God I ask You in the name of Jesus to deliver me from premature death since it is written that if I serve the Lord my God, You will fulfill the number of my days. (Adapted Exodus 23:25-26)

5. Remember O Lord I pray how I have lived before You in truth and with a loyal, devoted heart and how I have done the right thing in Your sight and save my life. (Adapted Isaiah 38:2-3 from Hezekiah’s prayer when God saved his life)

(Ephesians 6:17) Therefore, we will call the Scriptures that we will use to fight death SWORD WORDS.

SWORD WORDS that you can use as personal deliverance prayers for your life include:

1. They take counsel together against me and scheme to take away my life. But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord and I say, "You are my God." My times are in Your hand; deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from those who persecute me. (Psalm 31:13-15)  

2. Let those be put to shame and brought to dishonor who seek after my life. Let them be turned back and brought to confusion who plot my hurt. In addition to praying for yourself, ask your Pastor to pray for your life and attend Deliverance services so that you can learn different spiritual warfare prayers and receive deliverance from the spirit of death.

After praying, put on the helmet of salvation since it is one of the weapons of our warfare being part of the armor of God that we need to put on to fight our spiritual battles. (Ephesians 6:14-17)

All you need to put on this helmet of salvation is to say with your mouth that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead when He died for our sins and you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)

After getting saved, plead the Blood of Jesus over your life for protection. To do so, you can simply say, “I plead the Blood of Jesus over my life (or whoever’s life is threatened.)”

Regardless of whether your life is in danger because of true enemies or false friends, you have to combine spiritual and physical interventions to form your own holistic deliverance ministry to fight for your life and deliver it from danger.

The first spiritual step to take is to consult God and find out what He wants you to do about your situation because He urges us to Call upon Me in the day of trouble and I will deliver you and you shall glorify Me. (Psalm 50:15)

Learn from David who faced very many dangers in his life for he said I will call upon the Lord who is worthy to be saved and so shall I be saved from my enemies. (2 Samuel 22:4) Note that David said this on the day that God delivered him from all his enemies because he knew it was the formula that had kept him alive.

Therefore call upon the Lord in prayer and learn from King Jehoshaphat to combine your prayers with fasting. We can see that when several enemy armies attacked them, and his life and those of the Israelites were in danger, he Set himself to seek the Lord and fast. (2 Chronicles 20:3)

Ezra also led the Israelites in combining prayer and fasting when their lives were in danger because of bandits on their way back home from Babylon to Jerusalem. They prayed and fasted and God protected them on their dangerous journey. (Ezra 8:21-23) Therefore, combine your prayers with fasting so that God can save your life from danger.

1. Help me, O Lord my God! Save me according to Your mercy so that they may know that this is Your hand, that You, Lord, have done it! (Psalm 109:26-27)

2. Deliver me, O Lord my God, from evil men and preserve me from violent men who plan evil things in their hearts. (Psalm 140:1-2)

3. Pull me out of the net that they have secretly laid for me because You are my strength. (Psalm 31:4)

4. Do not deliver me to the will of my enemies because false witnesses have risen against me  and such as breath out violence. (Psalm 27:12)

To do this, set specific meditation session during the day when you can meditate on the following spiritual warfare scriptures:

1. He shall deliver me in 6 troubles, yes, in 7 no evil shall touch me. In famine He shall redeem me from death and in war from the power of the sword. I shall be hidden from the scourge of the tongue and I shall not be afraid of destruction when it comes. (Adapted Job 5:19-21)

2. The Lord shall preserve my going out and my coming in. (Adapted Psalm 121:8)

3. Nothing shall by any means hurt me. (Adapted Luke 10:19)

4. The Lord is faithful and He will establish me and guard me from the evil one. (Adapted 2 Thessalonians 3:3)

5. Surely He shall deliver me from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover me with His feathers, and under His wings I shall take refuge. (Adapted Psalm 91:3-4)

Meditate on these Scriptures and decide to believe them whenever dangerous doubts enter your mind trying to convince you of the contrary. Believe these Scriptures because having faith in God and in His Word is how you hold up your shield of faith which is another of our spiritual weapons and the weapon that is able to quench ALL the fiery darts of the enemy. (Ephesians 6:16)

Ensure that you read at least one chapter of the Bible everyday because the Gospel is another of our warfare weapons and so that you can learn more danger-overcoming Scriptures to meditate on.

Regardless of the causes of your confusion, you have to combine spiritual and mental interventions to form your own holistic deliverance ministry to fight confusion and deliver yourself from mental chaos.

The first spiritual step to take when you find yourself staggering between several courses of action is to pray for direction because we are told that If any person lacks wisdom, let them ask of God, Who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to them. (James 1:5)

Therefore, pray and consult the Lord of Hosts Who is wonderful in counsel and excellent in guidance (Isaiah 28:29 ) to find out what course of action you should take.

1. Cause me to know the way in which I should walk O Lord, for I lift up my soul to You. (Psalm 143:8)

2. Lead me, O Lord, in Your righteousness because of my enemies and make Your way straight before my face. (Psalm 5:8)

3. I am Your servant O God, please give me understanding. (Psalm 119:125)

In addition to praying for yourself, ask your Pastor to pray for you and attend Deliverance services so that you can learn different spiritual warfare prayers and receive deliverance from the spirit of confusion.

After praying, put on the helmet of salvation since it is one of the weapons of our warfare being part of the armor of God that we need to put on to fight our spiritual battles. (Ephesians 6:14-17)

1. God is not the author of confusion, but of peace. (1 Corinthians 14:33)

2. The steps of a good person are ordered by the Lord. (Psalm 37:23)

3. You hold me by my right hand. You guide me with Your counsel, and afterward you will receive me to glory. (Psalm 73:23-24)

My Vitiligo Cure Testimony

July 2016 Vitiligo Healing Testimony Update

This Christian testimony on the cure of vitiligo was initially published on July 2011, unpublished several times due to This Reason and I felt I should republish it today in July 2016 to give glory to God and because They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony. (Revelation 12:11)

I am writing this article to encourage anyone with vitiligo or any other autoimmune disease like systemic lupus erythematosus, dermatomyositis, scleroderma, Sjorgren syndrome, type 1 diabetes, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, Grave’s disease, Addison’s disease, alopecia areata, pernicious anemia, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, myasthenia gravis and celiac disease.

  

What is Vitiligo?

Vitiligo is the skin disease in which white patches develop on the skin. 

It affects all races but it is obviously more noticeable, and I would assume more distressing, on persons of African descent with skin of color and especially the darker skin types IV to VI.

The exact cause of vitiligo is not known but it is suspected to be an autoimmune disease.

What are Autoimmune Diseases?

Autoimmune diseases are those diseases in which the body’s immune system attacks its own cells. In other words, the body's defense system attacks the cells it is supposed to protect from harmful invaders. 

In the case of vitiligo, these “rebel” immune cells attack cells called melanocytes which are responsible for producing the pigment that gives skin its color. As a result white patches appear on different parts of the body.

The treatment of most autoimmune diseases therefore involves controlling the body’s immune response by using immunosuppressive medications. Examples include corticosteroid tablets like prednisone which is taken by mouth and corticosteroid creams like betamethasone which are applied on the skin. Other immunosuppresives used to treat autoimmune diseases include tactrolimus, azathioprine and cylophosphamide.

My Vitiligo Story

I first noticed the vitiligo symptoms of white patches of skin over my left eyebrow around 3-4 years ago (2007-2008). To say the least, it was distressing since I did not understand why it should develop on my face first. I therefore did all I could to treat it. 

I began by using corticosteriod creams which I applied to the skin lesions twice a day but I noticed that they surprisingly made it worse. This could have been due to the known skin lightening effect of topical steroids and thus in my case the white patches appeared larger. 

I, therefore, stopped using topical steroid creams and begun applying tacrolimus 0.1%. But, I developed an even worse side effect of subconjuctival hemorrhage or bleeding in the eye which in my situation was terrible since I was bleeding in both eyes.

At this point I gave up on conventional medicine and gave the condition up to God. I even wrote a book called Vitiligo by Dr Miriam Kinai.

Note that if you have an autoimmune disease, I am not suggesting that you should stop taking your conventional medications without discussing the consequences and your other options with your doctor. I was able to make that decision by myself because I am a doctor who has received specialized training in dermatology. 

Events Surrounding My Vitiligo Cure

Around 25th June 2011, I developed a very severe rash on my face. This rash was mysterious because I have not had a facial rash for as long as I can remember. Even during my teenage years, God had blessed me with smooth skin. 

In addition to that, I had not changed any of my facial products or eaten unusual foods though the rash was pretty itchy and therefore, I suspected that it may be an “allergic rash”. 

But, this rash was initially concentrated on my T zone that is from the forehead to the areas around my mouth and therefore I wondered if there was a sebaceous aspect to it also.   

On 30th June 2011, I lost my job. This was tough because though my job was very stressful, I loved it. 

Losing my job also meant I lost my medical cover and therefore I could not seek medical attention  (or rather request a doctor to prescribe the medications I need as some doctors including myself are prone to do). I also did not want to spend the money I had buying over the counter medications and so I decided to try homemade natural treatments to my rapidly spreading facial rash.

Around 1st July 2011, I begun applying a mixture of essential oils with a vegetable oil on my face thrice a day. As some of you may know, I am a Certified Aromatherapist and therefore quite knowledgeable on the use of essential oils.

On 3rd July 2011, I went for a Christian crusade. I had not gone specifically for a healing because even when the Bishop asked all those who were sick to go to the altar, I did not go because I had totally forgotten about the facial rash and vitiligo. When he asked us to place our hands on the sick areas on our body I found myself placing my hand on my forehead and this puzzled me because as I said, I had forgotten about my skin conditions. 

But, as we were praying, the word “vitiligo” dropped into spirit as if the Holy Spirit was reminding me about it and I prayed against vitiligo in the Mighty Name of Jesus.

On 7th July 2011, I was at home when the word “vitiligo” dropped in my spirit again and I picked up a mirror and I could not believe what I saw. The vitiliginous skin had totally disappeared as my skin color was now normal. As you can see the area above my left eyebrow has normal pigmentation. The other mysterious rash is still present on my forehead but it has markedly improved.

So What Healed Vitilgo?

Was it the healing Christian Crusade?

Was it the essential oil mixture?

Was it spontaneous resolution?

Since studies have not been done, I cannot claim that my essential oil mixture was the vitiligo cure though I used oils with known anti-inflammatory properties and applied them over the vitiliginous areas not by design, but by default since the mysterious rash covered by entire face. In addition these essential oils I used have been around for centuries, just as long as vitiligo has been and so I suppose someone would have stumbled upon this vitiligo oil or aromatherapy cure for vitiligo if that is what it is.  

As for spontaneous resolution, it is known to happen in some cases where a person's vitiligo heals on it own. But, in my situation, I think it may not have been the case since I was facing a new stress of unemployment even though the old stress of a stressful job had ended and I felt its effects on my body.

This new stress could have worked against the spontaneous resolution since vitiligo is one of the psychodermatology conditions that is worsened by stress.

I am therefore left with no other choice than to give credit to God for the healing of vitiligo. I place my money on that healing crusade I attended because the Power of God was present in a mighty way and very many people where healed including the dumb.

Vitiligo Healing Lessons

I strongly recommend a holistic approach for the management of all medical conditions and especially the autoimmune ones which have no "quick fix".

This holistic approach for the treatment of vitiligo includes:

1. Conventional medicine - discuss with your medical doctor the best vitiligo treatment options and their side effects. Click here to learn about the medical treatment of vitiligo.

2. Alternative medicine - consult an alternative medicine practitioner like an aromatherapist or herbalist and do your own research. However if you are taking medications prescribed by your medical doctor, always consult them before you begin using any "natural treatment" regardless of whether it is herbs, essential oils or Bach flower remedies since some can react adversely to the medications you may be taking and end up causing more harm than good to your body.

3. Improve your physical health - Commit to exercising regularly, getting adequate sleep and eating an anti-oxidant diet that is rich in nutrients like vitamins A, C, E and selenium. You can do this by simply increasing the number of raw, brightly colored fruits and vegetables you eat each day. Perfect examples include carrots, sweet potatoes and mangoes.

4. Improving your mental health - commit to managing stress effectively and raising your self-esteem since vitiligo lowers self-esteem and even causes depression in some people.

5. Improving your spiritual health by developing a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and involving Him in all aspects of your life including managing the stress of a chronic illness since Jesus is the best stress management therapist. 

To do this, begin by saying with your mouth that "Jesus is Lord" and believing in your heart that when He died for our sins, God raised Him from the dead and you will be saved. In addition, understand that to receive your miracle healing, you have to believe that He can heal you regardless of how long you have suffered from vitiligo, systemic lupus erythematosus, dermatomyositis, scleroderma, Sjorgren syndrome, type 1 diabetes, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, Grave’s disease, Addison’s disease, alopecia areata, pernicious anemia, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, myasthenia gravis, celiac disease or any other disease.

Having faith is paramount to being healed because we see Jesus on several occasions healing people by telling them "As you have believed let it be done to you." (Matthew 8:13 and Mark 5:34) Therefore believe that you CAN be healed even of medically incurable diseases. To learn more, read How to Strengthen your Faith for Healing.

In addition, understand that healing takes place on many levels. I believe I received one level of healing when the vitiligo stopped disturbing me mentally even though it was “defacing” me.

This is the type of deliverance that Jesus gave to the paralyzed man who was brought to him lying on a mat and Jesus told him "Take up your mat and go home." (Mark 2:10-12) His mat of sickness was still in his life, but now instead of lying on it in defeat, he was able to carry it and carry on with his normal day to day life. 

Therefore understand that God can give you the grace to live with the condition without taking it out of your life permanently. We can see this clearly when Paul asked God three times to remove the thorn in his flesh (this could have been a physical disease) but God replied by telling him, “My grace is sufficient for you.” (2 Corinthians 12:9)

Therefore, if you have prayed and prayed and the physical disease is still present in your life, do not despair. Continue praying and ask God to give you the grace to bear it until the day He so chooses to permanently take it away from your life.
