God promised the Israelites, "If you keep these commandments - to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways and to hold fast to Him, then the Lord will drive out all these nations from before you and you will dispossess greater and mightier nations than yourselves. (Numbers 11:22-23)
God promised to help the Israelites defeat nations which were greater and mightier than them if they kept His commandments by:
1. Loving Him
2. Living the way He expected them to live (walking in His ways)
3. Clinging to Him (holding fast to Him)
Loving God
To develop your love for God remind yourself of all the good things He has done for you and be grateful for them. One of the best ways of doing this is by Keeping a Book of Blessings that you read frequently to remind yourself of God's faithfulness.
Living for God
To live for God do the things that He expects you to do. These things are written in the Bible and so you should read your Bible regularly and Lay up these words of mine in your heart and your soul,
Bind them as a sign on your hand
Let them like frontlets between your eyes. (Numbers 11:18)
This Bible verse suggests that the Word of God should guide the desires of your heart, the actions of your hands and the things you look at with your eyes.
Clinging to God
This holding fast to God is very important when dealing with gigantic problems because in many situations you cannot do anything about them. Therefore instead of giving upon God, cling fast to Him and wait expectantly for Him to deal with the giants.
