Why Are You Crying?

Why Are You Crying?

After the Israelites left Egypt, they saw Pharaoh and the Egyptian army coming towards them as they were camping by the Red Sea.

They most probably felt trapped by the Red Sea that was infront of them and Pharaoh's army that was approaching from behind and so they begun to cry out to the Lord. (Exodus 14:10)

God's response was very interesting.
He said to Moses, "Why are you crying to Me?" (Exodus 14:15)

This answer shows me that there are times in life which are not for crying and indulging in self-pity or for looking for others to pity us.

It shows me that there are situations in life that must be faced with steadfast faith in God's ability to solve the problems that are beseiging us.

Therefore if today you are feeling trapped by the deep Red Sea of dangerous problems standing infront of you and the vicious harassing oppressors pursuing you, do not cry.

Instead of wasting your time and energy crying, do what the Lord told Moses to tell the Israelites when they were crying: Tell the children of Israel to go forward(Exodus 14:15)
Go forward Exodus 14:15

So, focus on your forward or future.

Do not contemplate going back to your past even if seems less problematic because of your current issues.

Keep your mind on your Promised Land and know that even if God has promised you land flowing with milk and honey in your future, you may have to cross some large Red Seas without a bridge.

Understand also that Pharaoh who liked seeing you suffering in your problematic past, will not release you without a fight. He will want you to remain in bondage for the rest of your life so that your children will also be born and die in bondage.

Therefore my brothers and sisters, remain focused on your future and keep taking steps toward it as you meditate on Deuteronomy 31:6 which you can personalize to: I will be strong and courageous. I will not fear because the Lord my God goes with me and He will never leave me or forsake me. (Deuteronomy 31:6)

So take those courageous steps towards your future as you believe that God knows how to part the Red Sea of problems that is standing between you and your future.
