How to Create your Christian Affirmations

The Bible tells us that the woman with the issue of blood said, "If I touch His garments, I shall be healed". (Mark 5:28)

It is remarkable that this woman was still able to use the words, "I shall be healed" on herself because she had suffered for 12 years with her bleeding disease and suffered many things from many doctors as they tried to treat her and yet her condition continued deteriorating.

However the fact that she kept believing and saying that she could be healed despite all what she had been through should challenge us to keep our faith and hope alive regardless of what we are going through so that we can also continue believing and saying, I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. (Psalm 27:13)
I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. (Psalm 27:13)

Another lesson that this woman teaches us is that what we say to ourselves is more important than what people say to us.

This woman did not parrot to herself the words of the specialists who had been unsuccessfully treating her for all those years. Instead, she spoke life giving words to herself.

Therefore since the Bible tells us that The worlds were framed by the word of God (Hebrews 11:3), learn to frame your world with your words.

This means that you should speak words that can create the world you want. So be your own prophet and declare that:
"I shall be healed"
"I shall get married"
"I shall get children"
"I shall get a job"
"I shall prosper"
"I shall be free of this addiction"
or whatever it is that you want even if you have been trying unsuccessfully to get it for the past 12 years.

The tongue has the power of life and death Proverbs 18:21

As you frame your world with your words, anchor the changing of your circumstances to God like this woman who believed that touching Jesus, the Son of God, would heal her because He has the power.

Having faith or believing that God can change your circumstances is important because it makes your affirmations more believable especially if you have tried unsuccessfully to change your situation for many years.

To do this, rephrase your Christian affirmations to:
"I shall be healed because with God all things are possible (Matthew 19:26)"
"I shall get married because with God all things are possible (Matthew 19:26)"
"I shall get children because with God all things are possible (Matthew 19:26)
"I shall get a job because with God all things are possible (Matthew 19:26)"
"I shall prosper because with God all things are possible (Matthew 19:26)"
"I shall be free of this addiction because with God all things are possible (Matthew 19:26)"

With God all things are possible Matthew 19:26

Another important thing to do when you are creating your Christian affirmations is to make them in the present tense.

This is because God said Let the weak say I am strong. (Joel 3:10)

To do this, rephrase your Christian affirmations to:
"I am healed because with God all things are possible (Matthew 19:26)"
"I am married because with God all things are possible (Matthew 19:26)"
"I have children because with God all things are possible (Matthew 19:26)
"I have a job because with God all things are possible (Matthew 19:26)"
"I am prosperous because with God all things are possible (Matthew 19:26)"
"I am free of this addiction because with God all things are possible (Matthew 19:26)

How to Create your Christian Affirmations

Since the Bible tells us that The worlds were framed by the word of God (Hebrews 11:3), use Scriptures that pertain to your situation as your Christian affirmations.

So create a second set of affirmations for your situation that uses Bible verses. For example you can say:
"I am healed because God sent His word and healed me. (Psalm 107:20)"
"I am married because God sets the solitary in families. (Psalm 68:6)"
"I have children because There shall be no one who is barren. (Exodus 23:26)
"I have a job because it is written Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened. (Matthew 7:7)"
"I am prosperous because Blessed be God who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant. (Psalm 35:27)"
"I am free of this addiction because with God all things are possible (Matthew 19:26)

How to Ignore Naysayers

How to ignore naysayers

There are several people in the Bible who ignored their naysayers and achieved their goals and they can teach us how to ignore our naysayers so that we can also achieve our goals.

The Woman with the Issue of Blood
The women who had a bleeding disorder is a great example because the Bible tells us that she had suffered many things from many doctors as they as they tried to treat her.

We are also told that she had spent all her money looking for a cure for her disease. However, her condition continued worsening despite all her efforts. (Mark 5:25-29)

Her bleeding disease can be counted as one of the naysayers in her life because for 12 years it had afflicted her and caused her to suffer many things from many doctors and even drained her finances.

Her financial status can also be counted as another of the  naysayers in her life because it suggested that she could not be healed because she had no more money to pay for treatment.

In addition to this, it is safe to assume that some of the people who had treated her or talked to her about her medical condition during all those years had told her that she could not be healed.

However, if this woman had taken to heart the words of her naysayers or the suggestions of her financial situation, she would never have been cured of her condition.

Blind Bartimaeus
Bartimaeus is another person who also had to ignore naysayers so that he could get the healing that he wanted and needed.

The Bible tells us that as he was crying out to Jesus saying, "Jesus, Son of David have mercy on me!" Many people who heard him warned him to keep quiet. (Mark 10:48)

However, Bartimaeus ignored these people and continued crying out until Jesus called him and healed him.

How to Ignore Naysayers
Regardless of whether you are dealing with
* physical problems (e.g. sickness)
* mental problems (e.g. stress)
* emotional problems (e.g. abuse)
* financial problems (e.g. joblessness)
* relational problems (e.g. marriage, singleness) or
* legal problems (e.g. court cases)
you can learn the following tips on how to ignore naysayers and achieve your goals like Bartimaeus and this woman because they both attained their goals of being healed:

1. Focus On Your Goal
Keep your mind on the goal you want to achieve and not on the words of the people who are telling you that you cannot achieve it.

I am not suggesting that you should ignore your doctors if you are sick and they tell you that your disease is incurable.

What I am saying is that you should listen to them and follow their treatment recommendations BUT you have to keep your mind focused on the fact that you can still be healed because With God all things are possible. (Matthew 19:26)
With God all things are possible. (Matthew 19:26)

2. Meditate on Bible Verses
As you follow the recommendations of the specialists who are helping you with your problem, do not continuously think or meditate on their words if they tell you that you cannot achieve your desired goal.

Go through your Bible and find Scriptures that cancel the words of the naysayers and tell you that you can achieve your goal so that you can meditate on them instead of the words of the naysayers.

For example if you are dealing with a physical illness or disease, you can meditate on:
By His stripes I am healed. (Isaiah 53:5)
By His stripes I am healed. (Isaiah 53:5)

God has restored health to me and healed me of all diseases. (Jeremiah 30:17)
God has restored health to me and healed me of all diseases. (Jeremiah 30:17)

He sent His word and healed me. (Psalm 107:20)
He sent His word and healed me. (Psalm 107:20)

I am prospering in all things and I am in good health just as my soul prospers. (3 John 1:2)
I am prospering in all things and I am in good health just as my soul prospers. (3 John 1:2)

God has heard my prayers. God has seen my tears and He will heal me. (2 Kings 20:5)
I have heard my prayers. I have seen your tears. I will heal you. (2 Kings 20:5)

3. Persist in Prayer
Emulate Bartimaeus who persisted in calling out Jesus even when the people around him told him to keep quiet (Mark 10:48) by Praying without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17) until you achieve your goal.
Praying without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

4. Have Faith in God
Bartimaeus had faith in Jesus, the Son of God because told him, “Your faith has healed you." (Mark 10:52)

The woman with the bleeding disease also had faith in Jesus because He also told her, “Your faith has made you well." (Mark 5:34)

Therefore regardless of the goal that you are trying to attain, if it is in line with God’s Word, have faith that you can achieve it.

To strengthen your belief, affirm yourself by saying, I can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13) because With God all things are possible. (Matthew 19:26)
I can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13)

5. Take Action
As you pray for God’s help, meditate on His Word and confess it over your situation, you have to take some action to solve your problem.

For the woman with the bleeding disease it involved pushing through the crowd until she touched the hem of Jesus’ garment.

For Bartimaeus it was persisting in calling out to Jesus until he received his healing.

Therefore take action by doing what God’s Holy Spirit inspires you to do to achieve your goal because Faith without works is dead. (James 2:26)
Faith without works is dead. (James 2:26)
