The Bible tells us to Let your speech always be graceful, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you should answer everyone. (Colossians 4:6)
So how do you season your speech with salt?
To season your speech with salt, you have to know the roles of salt in the Bible which include:
1. Salt is Healing
When Elisha was told that the water in Jericho was bad and its ground barren, he asked the men to bring him a new bowl with salt.
He cast the salt into the city's water and cleansed the water by saying, "Thus says the Lord: I have healed this water and it shall not cause death and barreness anymore." (2 Kings 2:19-22)
Therefore season your speech with salt by using healing words.
2. Salt adds Flavor
The Bible asks, "Can food which is flavorless be eaten without salt?" (Job 6:6)
Salt therefore enhances the inherent flavor of food.
Therefore season your speech with salt by using healing words which enhance the point you are trying to make.
