How to Fight Oppression with Bible Verses
Regardless of whether you are being oppressed by physical persons,
tyrannical problems, restricting circumstances, prohibited substances or evil
spiritual powers, you have to combine spiritual, mental, verbal and physical
interventions to form your own holistic deliverance ministry to fight for your
freedom from all forms of oppression.
The first spiritual
intervention is to pray and cry out to God. We can see that when the Israelites
were oppressed as slaves in Egypt, they cried out to God and He heard them for
He said, “I have heard their cries”
(Exodus 3:7) and then sent them a deliverer in the person of Moses.
Therefore, present your oppressing situation
morning and evening to the Lord in prayer as you ask Him to help you break the
chains of oppression distressing you.
As you pray, use
Scriptures since awesome Bible verses are the foundation of any deliverance
ministry and Christian spiritual warfare because the Word of God is the Sword
of the Spirit that God has given us to fight with. (Ephesians 6:17)
Scriptures
that you can use as personal
deliverance prayers include:
1. O Lord, I am oppressed. Please undertake for
me in the mighty name of Jesus. (Adapted
Isaiah 38:14)
2. Lord, please do not let the proud oppress me. (Adapted Psalm 119:122)
3. Save me from the oppression of men so that I
may keep Your precepts. (Adapted
Psalm 119:134)
4. Let them be ashamed who persecute me, but do not let me be put to shame. Let them be dismayed, but do not let me be dismayed. Bring on them the day of doom, and destroy them with double destruction! (Jeremiah 17:18)

As you pray, believe that God will help you since having
faith in God and in His Word is how you hold up your shield of faith which is
one of our spiritual weapons and the weapon that is able to quench all the
fiery darts of the enemy. (Ephesians 6:16) Believe that God can and will help
you get out of the oppressive situation no matter how long it has been present
in your life.
In addition to praying for yourself, ask your Pastor to
pray for you and attend Deliverance services so that you can learn different spiritual warfare prayers
and receive deliverance from your specific form of oppression.
