How God Works in Mysterious Ways.

How God Works in Mysterious Ways.

Sometimes God works in mysterious ways by using unconventional conduits to channel His blessings to us.

We can see a perfect example in I Kings 17 when God sent Elijah to the Cherith Brook from where ravens would feed him with meat and bread twice a day. After a while, the brook dried up due to the drought and God sent Elijah to a widow in Zarephath to feed him.

The first way in which God worked mysteriously to channel blessings to Elijah was by using "unconventional conduits" in the form of ravens to feed him.

Ravens are omnivorous birds since they feed on both meat and seeds and they brought him meat. God could have used a herbivorous bird which only feeds on seeds to bring Elijah meat but He chose not to because He is God

How God Works

The second way in which God worked mysteriously to channel blessings to Elijah was by using an "unconventional conduit" in the form of a poor widow to feed him.

This widow was so poor that when Elijah asked her for something to eat, she told him she was going to prepare the last meal for her and her son before they died of starvation. God could have used a rich person who was not dealing with food shortage to feed Elijah during the famine but He chose not to because He is God

Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: Is there anything too hard for me? (Jeremiah 32:27)

Therefore if like Elijah you are believing God to feed you during a famine, and the ravens which were bringing you food have stopped delivering it, and the brook that you had been drinking from has dried up, do not panic because God can prepare another conduit to channel His blessings to you.

Then, if like Elijah you obediently and go to the person God tells you He has prepared to feed you, and on your first meeting they tell you that they are preparing to die of starvation, do not despair and prepare to die with them.

Decide to believe that God can work miraculously to feed you because the widow's bin of flour was not used up and her jar of oil did not dry up as she continued to feed Elijah.

Understand therefore that the raven, brooks and poor widow are not the source of your help.

They are just channels that God is using to bring His blessings to you.

Therefore if one channel dries up or dies, it does not mean that you will also dry up or die because God, Who is the Source, did not dry up or die with it.

Therefore continue looking up to God as Your Source and you will not get stressed when the ravens stop flying towards you and the brook dries up and the widow tells you she is preparing to die.

My God shall supply all my needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19)

If you are believing God to give you a house when you do not have a job, and the handouts that you were receiving have stopped coming in, and the small business you had been relying on dries up, do not panic because God can work mysteriously and prepare another conduit to channel His blessings to you.

If you obediently go to the company God tells you He has prepared to help you, and on your first meeting they tell you that they are also facing financial challenges, do not despair and prepare to declare bankruptcy because you are about to experience another miraculous conduit of God.

Know that God can ensure that the company's finances do not dry up and their resources will not get used up as long as they continue to help you.

Understand therefore that people and small businesses and large companies are not the source of your help. They are just channels that God uses to channel His blessings to you.

Therefore if one channel dries up or dies, it does not mean that you will also dry up or die because God, Who is the Source, did not dry up or die with it.
Therefore continue looking up to God as your Source and you will not get stressed when the handouts stop flying towards you and the business dries up.

Accept that God works in mysterious ways by using unconventional channels to bring His blessings to His people for He tells us, "My thoughts are not your thoughts and your ways are not My ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth so are My ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." (Isaiah 55:8-9)

Managing Stress with the Word of God

Managing Stress with the Word of God

Managing Stress with the Word of God by Dr. Miriam Kinai teaches you how to deal with stress by combining principles from the Bible with medically proven relaxation techniques.

Managing Stress with the Word of God Book Excerpt

To successfully manage any stressful situation, you have to let Jesus into your heart and into your life so that He can calm your inner stormy emotions and show you how to manage your outer stormy stressful situation.

Jesus has taken the first step.

He came to earth, was crucified for our sins and now He stands at the door of your heart knocking. He knocks and waits for you to let Him in voluntarily.

He will not coerce you or force His way in. You have to admit to yourself that you need divine help and then make the conscious choice of letting Him come into your life.

You may have dabbled in the occult, abused drugs or flirted with immorality. You may have broken all the commandments and your entire life may be in a mess but all this does not matter to Jesus. He wants to come into your life regardless of what you may have done and that is why He stands at your soiled door knocking.

He already knows what type of chaos you are living in so do not be afraid or ashamed of your mess For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already. (John 3:17-18)

So let Jesus in right now. He wants to come in so that He can help you sort out your life and your stressful situation. You can let Him in today when you are stressed or you can let Him in tomorrow when you are even more stressed by your problems. The choice is yours. When do you want the change? If you want it now, open the door and Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion. (Psalm 95:8)

Opening the door of your heart is very simple. All you have to do is to turn away from your sins, say with your mouth that "Jesus is Lord" and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead and you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9-10)

Therefore acknowledge that Jesus is Lord and then lay your entire life before Him so that the healing can begin.

Let Him see what the storms have done to you.

Show Him the cracks in the walls of your mind that keep extending everyday as your problems become more and more unbearable.

Show Him the windows of your heart patched up with old newspapers that will not let the light of love in after the panes were shattered by unfaithful loved ones.

Show Him the rooms in your head that you will not enter as they are haunted by broken dreams and wasted opportunities.

Let Him smell the stench from the garbage that you brought home and grew attached to and have been unable to throw out.

Let Him see the taps that will not close dripping tears of agony day after day, night after night.

Show Him the toilets that will not flush and let go of painful memories as they are clogged with anger, bitterness and hatred.

Unveil the wounds on your body that you have been hiding. Let Him see the hand that was amputated by the sharks, the eye that was blinded by the accident, the mastectomy scar and the kidneys that have failed due to diabetes.

Show Him the limitations imposed on you by your financial setbacks - the vital medications you cannot afford, the meals you forego and the clothes peeling off your back.

Let Him see the full extent of your depravity so that He can restore you to wholeness. Do not fear to bare it all for Him for He looks with love and listens with compassion. What you are unable to express in words, He is able to read from your heart. He can understand all those subtle nuances of anguish that you cannot verbalize. He will not flinch in disgust at the state you are in.

He even wants to eat with you. He wants to share in your stress and suffering for He has accepted you. He loves you just as you are, right where you are. Let Him be the Friend who will walk with you through it all for He is the only one who can see it all and solve it all.

The mental Rules of Relaxation or stress relief tips covered in this book will teach you how to reduce stress whether it is stress at work or at home as you incorporate these stress reduction techniques into your life.

Therefore, make it a point to learn how to relieve stress by practicing a few of these simple ways to relieve stress everyday since stress in life is inevitable but how you deal with it is what determines whether or not you develop stress related diseases. This is because simple relaxation exercises for stress release such as abdominal breathing can counter the body's stress response by triggering it's relaxation response.

Book Excerpt
ASSERT YOURSELF
Asserting yourself is a direct way of clearly expressing your feelings and needs without hurting the other person's feelings or minimizing what you want to say.
To assert yourself, remember the mnemonic:
A Assess your problems, feelings, goals
S Set a convenient time and place to meet
S State the problem clearly
E Express feelings using "I" sentences
R Request for what you want.
T Tell them the consequences
E.g. "I don't want to be late for work again. I feel stressed when you delay me in the morning. I would like you to be ready by 7.00am. If you are not ready on time, I will have to leave without you."

BREATHE DEEPLY
Abdominal breathing is a very simple but effective relaxation technique. It involves taking a deep breath through your nose until you feel your abdomen rising and then exhaling completely until you feel your abdomen falling. Repeat several times and you will begin to feel relaxed as it slows your racing heart and calms your raging emotions.
It is discrete and can be done anywhere. Breathe deeply in traffic jams, at the office, in the middle of an argument or when you need to think clearly and perform efficiently under pressure.
I believe that part of the reason that exercising and crying and laughing help people who are stressed feel better is because they all involve deep abdominal breathing therefore take deep breaths whenever stress strikes.

COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS
An attitude of gratitude helps in reducing stress. It reminds you of the great things that God has done for you in the past and this serves as proof that He is still able to do other great things for you in your present and future for He is still the same great God.
Count your blessings instead of counting your hassles. Each day write down 3 things that you are grateful for. When the going gets tough, read your gratitude lists for encouragement. Go the extra step and carry His wonderful works etched in your heart like David did. When he faced Goliath, he declared before all that The Lord, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine. (1 Samuel 17:37) and this enabled him to fight fearlessly.

DRINK HERBAL TEAS
Herbal teas are the perfect drinks to sip when you are stressed as they can help you relax without intoxicating you.
You can drink store bought herbal teas with soothing herbs such as chamomile and passionflower to help you calm down after a stressful day. You can also make your own herbal teas at home.
If you need a drink to melt tension, steep chamomile flowers in boiled water for 15 minutes and then drink it warm.
When you need a drink to fight fatigue or raise low spirits, boil peeled, grated ginger and cinnamon in water for 15 minutes and then sip it when warm. Both teas can be sweetened with honey.

ESTABLISH SOCIAL SUPPORT
Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10)
Establish your social support system. This is a group of people whose company you enjoy and who support you through the tough times encouraging and advising you in addition to celebrating the good times with you. They should be people who uplift you and not people who bring you down.
They can be members of your family, your local church, social club or workmates. Do not allow your work or your stressful situation to isolate you for strong social support networks have been found to be vital in maintaining good mental health.

FORMULATE REALISTIC GOALS
Set realistic goals as unattainable ambitions are a great source of stress. Do not put unnecessary pressures on yourself to acquire things that are totally out of your reach.
Set short term, medium term and long tern goals that are attainable with your available resources and you will be less stressed.
You will be more relaxed as you set out to reach these rational goals and you will achieve them will less angst.

GUARD YOUR HEART
Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life. (Proverbs 4:23)
Guard your mind, your thoughts, your emotions, your entire inner self for this is the source of your outer life. Protect it by carefully choosing what you meditate on, what you read, what you watch and what you listen to because all these influence your speech, behaviour and habits.
If you watch violent movies, read books on violence, listen to music that exalts violence and play violent video games, you will begin to display violent tendencies and you may eventually become brutal.
Meticulously watch over what you put into your body, the suggestions, the sights, the sounds and the sustenance for you will get out of it exactly what you put into it.

What Does The Bible Say About SWORD WORDS?

1. SWORD WORDS are lethal weapons because they are Sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12)

2. SWORD WORDS are as effective as live ammunition because The word of God is living and powerful (Hebrews 4:12).

3. SWORD WORDS are reliable and infallible because The words of the Lord are pure words, like silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. (Psalm 12:6)

4. SWORD WORDS are very potent, Piercing even to the division of soul and spirit and of joints and marrow (Hebrews 4:12)

5. SWORD WORDS are effective in Pulling down strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4) that the devil may have established in your life to keep you in bondage.
6. SWORD WORDS are effectual in Casting down arguments (2 Corinthians 10:5) and correcting wrong thinking and false teaching.
7. SWORD WORDS are proficient for fighting temptations and lowering Every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:5)
SWORD WORDS are therefore the weapons of choice for fighting spiritual battles with wicked spiritual forces because they are sharp weapons, powerful weapons and reliable weapons.

SWORD WORDS are also very effective weapons because they are able to penetrate your entire being - soul, spirit and body (even enter your bones and marrow) - and help you win physical, mental, emotional and spiritual battles.

SWORD WORDS are also very efficient weapons because they are able to destroy things or words that wicked spiritual forces have set up or said to keep you distressed.

The devil, demons and other wicked spiritual forces therefore have to flee when you use SWORD WORDS because Jesus Christ is the personification of the Word of God for it is written that In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. (John 1:1-2)
