Obeying God is a very important because we can see that when there was famine in the land, God told Isaac not to go to Egypt (Genesis 26:2)

Isaac obeyed God and Sowed in the land and reaped in that same year a hundredfold and God blessed him. (Genesis 26:12)

As a result of his obedience to God, Isaac Begun to prosper and he continued prospering until he became very prosperous.  (Genesis 26:13)
