The threefold cord of prayer is based on the teaching of Jesus where He says, "If you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting." (Matthew 17:20-21)
The first cord of the Threefold Cord Of Prayer is faith.
This is because Jesus said, "If you have faith as a mustard seed" (Matthew 17:20)
Therefore when you pray, have faith and believe that God will give you what you are praying for.
The second cord of the Threefold Cord Of Prayer is fluency.
This is because Jesus said, "You will say to this mountain" (Matthew 17:20)
Therefore after you pray in faith, open your mouth and speak to your situation and tell it what it should do. For example, if you have a mountain of problems in your life, tell it to 'Move from here to there'. (Matthew 17:20)
To increase the power of your words, use Words from the Bible since the sword of the Spirit is the Word of God. (Ephesians 6:17)
So go through your Bible and find the Words that you will use to speak to your mountain because Death and life are in the power of the tongue and those who love it will eat its fruit. (Proverbs 18:21)
You can also read the book SWORD WORDS since it has compiled numerous Scriptures that you can use to pray for different situations.
The third cord of the Threefold Cord Of Prayer is fasting.
This is because Jesus said, "This kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting." (Matthew 17:21)
Therefore after you pray in faith and speak to your situation, fast from food for a specified time so that you can combine your prayers with fasting.
You can abstain from food for 1 day (Judges 20:26) or for 3 days like Queen Esther (Esther 4:16) or for 7 days (1 Samuel 31:13) or for 10 days (Daniel 1:12) or for 14 days (Acts 27:33) or for 21 days (Daniel 10:3) or 40 days (Exodus 34:28 and Matthew 4:2). If you have never fasted before you can begin by skipping 1 meal. If you have any medical condition or you are taking medication, please consult your doctor first.
In conclusion, if you have a mountainous problem in your life, pray for it to move from your life, believe that God will move it from your life, speak to it and tell it to move from your life and fast for it to move from your life. Combine prayer with this threefold cord and "Nothing will be impossible for you." (Matthew 17:20)
