How To Not Perish

Christian blog sponsored posts

3 things to do so that you do not perish

The Bible teaches us 3 things that we should do if we do not want to perish.

How To Not Perish: Get Knowledge

The Bible tells us that My people perish for lack of knowledge. (Hosea 4:6)

Therefore, if you are dealing with a stressful situation, get all the information that you can about your problem so that you do not perish because of lack of knowledge.

How To Not Perish: Get a Vision

The Bible tells us that Where there is no vision, the people perish. (Proverbs 29:18)

Therefore, get a vision of where you want to go with your life. Write down the vision and make it plain so that the person who reads it may run (Habakkuk 2:2)

Write your own Personal Vision Statement and read it every day so that you can run towards it with the daily choices you make.

How To Not Perish: Obey God

The Bible tells us that If they do not obey, they shall perish by the sword. (Job 36:12)

Therefore, obey God's instructions so that you do not perish.

How to Achieve Hard Goals like Abraham

Christian blog sponsored posts

Do you want something that seems like a hard goal to achieve?

Would you love to have something that seems impossible to get?

If you do, learn from Abraham how to achieve hard goals because he ended up with a child even though he was very old and his wife Sarah was an old woman.

In the natural this seemed an impossible goal but Abraham and Sarah did achieve it and you can also achieve humanly impossible goals by doing the following:

Choose to Have Faith

The Bible tells us that Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrew 11:1)

Therefore, decide to have faith by feeling the substance of the things you are hoping for and seeing with your mind's eye the things not yet visible with your physical eyes.

So if your hard goal is to get a baby, you have to feel the presence of the baby in your life and see yourself having a baby.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

Choose to Have Faith in God's Word

Having a child was something that seemed impossible for Abraham to achieve in the natural because of his age and his wife's age. HOWEVER, Abraham chose to have faith in God's Word.

We know this because the Bible tells us that Abraham
did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but he was strengthened in faith and praised God while being fully convinced that what God had promised He was also able to perform. (Romans 4:19-22)

So, go through the Bible and find Scriptures and Promises of God that support getting the thing that you want.

Then decide to wholeheartedly believe those Scriptures without taking into consideration the facts about your situation.

Choose to believe WHAT THE PROMISES OF GOD SAY instead of choosing to believe WHAT THE FACTS SAY about your situation.

This is because Abraham did not consider his own body already dead since he was around 100 years old or Sarah's barren womb. (Romans 4:19-22)

All that Abraham considered was God's Word and He was fully convinced that God would perform it.

As a result of choosing to believe God's Word and choosing to believe that God could do what He said, Abraham was able to get a son with Sarah in their old age.

Therefore if you want to achieve a big, hard goal, decide to believe God's Word wholeheartedly instead of believing the facts of your situation which say you cannot achieve the goal.

With God all things are possible Matthew 19:26

Even if the reality of your situation tells you that you are as good as dead (totally useless) and that the people who are supposed to help you are barren (poor and unproductive) or impotent (weak and powerless), decide to believe God's Word when it says you can achieve the goal.

Do not let your faith waver because of your limitations for Abraham did not let his 100 year old body shake his faith in God.

Do not also let your faith waver because of the limitations of your helpers for Abraham did not let Sarah's barren womb shake his faith in God.

Emulate Abraham and hope even when all odds are against you for the Bible tells us that Contrary to hope, he believed in hope(Romans 4:18)

Selah

Abraham was able to hope even when there was no reason to hope because He was strengthened in faith. (Romans 4:20)

He was also praising God for it is written that he was Giving glory to God(Romans 4:20)

Consequently, Abraham Became the father of many nations according to what was spoken. (Romans 4:18)

10 Relaxation Tips for Stress at the Office

The symptoms of stress are varied and can range from tension headaches to back pains and sleeplessness. Therefore study yourself so that you can know how your body reacts when you are stressed. This self knowledge will help you manage the source of your stress and enable you to begin practicing relaxation techniques before you succumb to full-blown stress-related illnesses like hypertension and peptic ulcer disease.

This blog post on 10 relaxation tips for stress at the office will teach you the steps you can take to deal with the stress at work.

Relaxation tips for stress at the office

Pray

The first thing that you should do when faced with any stressful situation is to pray because it is written, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication, let your requests be made known to God" (Philippians 4:6)

Therefore, take a minute of two to pray about the things that are stressing you in the office and ask God to help you deal with them.

Breathe

The body's reaction to stress involves taking small, shallow breaths.

Therefore counter this response by inhaling deeply until your abdomen rises and exhaling deeply until it drops. Do this several times and you will begin to feel less stressed because abdominal breathing is a very effective relaxation technique.

Meditate

Meditation reduces stress, anxiety and depression. It also improves focus and concentration.

Therefore, when you find yourself getting stressed at the office, take a moment to meditate on Bible verses like I can do all things through Jesus Christ Who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13)

Do not be afraid because I am with you. Do not be dismayed because I am your God. I will strengthen you. I will help you. I will uphold you with my righteous Right Hand. (Isaiah 41:10)

Organize your Work Space

Clutter contributes to feeling stressed.

Therefore, organize your work space by tidying it and de-cluttering it. Place all your items in their designated spots. Make this an ongoing daily process by ensuring that everything that is brought into your office is neatly placed in its nook.

Organize your Work

Before your work day begins, plan how you will do the activities you are expected to do. If possible, develop a routine since engaging in repetitive activities relaxes the body and ensures you will not miss a task.

Skip the Coffee

Skip the coffee during your morning break since caffeine can trigger reactions in the body that are similar to those of the stress reaction.

Therefore, drink fresh fruit juices or sip green tea since it contains L-Theanine which reduces your body’s responses to stress.

Eat a Stress-Reducing Lunch

Eat foods that will not affect your mood adversely to avoid aggravating the effects of a stressful workplace.

For example, eat sandwiches made from whole wheat bread since they will not cause the rapid changes in blood sugar levels that are associated with the release of stress hormones. For optimum results, finish your lunch with a single square of dark chocolate since studies have shown that dark chocolate lowers stress levels.

Relax over Lunch

After eating, relax for a few minutes by reading or giving yourself a temple massage with relaxing lavender oil. You can also fill crosswords or complete Sudoku puzzles during your lunch break to divert your mind from the stressful events in your work place.

Relax Yourself Progressively

At the end of the work day, if you find that you are tightly wound because of work-related stress, progressively relax your muscles.

To do this, tighten the muscles of your right foot for a few seconds and focus on how they feel. Follow this by relaxing the same muscles and focusing on the sensation so that you can know when those muscles are relaxed as this will help you differentiate when you are tense from when you are relaxed. Proceed with this tightening and relaxing of your muscles groups as you work your way up your body until you finish with the muscles on your face.

Visualize your Vacation

If you need a vacation because of the stress you are experiencing, but you cannot afford to take one, practice guided imagery.

To do this, close your eyes and imagine yourself at your favorite vacation spot. See the sights, hear the sounds, feel the sensations and even taste the food you are eating in your mental vacation.
