Christian Emotional Healing part 2 - Cure Anxiety Biblically

Christian Emotional Healing part 2 is an excerpt from the book Christian Emotional Healing.

Cure Anxiety Biblically

If you are prone to thinking anxious thoughts or speaking anxious words or behaving anxiously, choose a Scripture that negates anxiety like Do not be anxious about anything. Instead of being anxious, let your requests be made known to God through prayer and supplication combined with thanksgiving. (Adapted Philippians 4:8)

Meditate on this Bible verse, decide to believe it and speak it out whenever you are tempted to think, speak or act anxiously. Then, pray and ask God to heal the wounds that cause you to think, speak or act this way.

In addition, decide in advance what you will do when you encounter the situations that trigger this kind of behavior. For example, you can decide that you will walk away from any situation that causes you to think, speak or act anxiously. Once you are in a safe place, you will calm down by taking deep breaths and handing the triggers to God in prayer. You can also engage in an aerobic exercise like dancing or jogging on the spot for a few minutes since exercise relieves anxiety, stress and helps you feel better.

Finally, find a way of releasing the repressed emotions that make you react anxiously. You can do this by writing in a journal each morning or blogging anonymously every evening.
