Top Youth Topics - How to Pass an Exam

Christian Teenage Stress Management Question 1 by Youth
How to pass my exam?

Answer by Christian Counselor Dr. Miriam
To ensure you pass your exams, do the following:

1. Pray
Pray and ask God to help you just as He helped Daniel and his 3 friends For these four young men God gave them knowledge and skill in all literature and wisdom. (Daniel 1:17)

When their schooling was over, Nebuchadnezzar The king interviewed them, and among them all none was found like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah (also known as Belteshazzar, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego) … in all matters of wisdom and understanding about which the king examined them, he found them 10 times better than all (Daniel 1:19-20) the other students.

We can also see that God also gave Bezalel wisdom and understanding to excel in his craft for He said, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri … and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge and in all manner or workmanship, to design artistic works, to work in gold, in silver, in bronze, in cutting jewels for setting, in carving wood and to work in all manner of workmanship.(Exodus 31:2-5)

Therefore pray and ask God to give you wisdom, knowledge, understanding and skill so that you can pass your exams. For example you can pray the following prayer:
Heavenly Father I ask You in the name of Jesus to give me wisdom, knowledge, understanding and skill so that I can pass my exams with flying colors.

2. Do your best
Do your best for Daniel distinguished himself … because an excellent spirit was in him. (Daniel 6:3) Therefore decide to excel in everything that you do from paying attention in class to doing your homework excellently and studying superbly.

This means that you must do the right thing at the right time even when your parents/guardians, teachers or prefects are not watching you. Do not hunch over your books and pretend to be studying regardless of whether you are in a day or boarding school because Daniel and his 3 friends were studying away from their parents and yet they excelled.

3. Manage your time
Manage your time well to ensure you have a time to study … a time to sleep … a time to eat … a time to laugh … a time to keep silence (Ecclesiastes 3)

Ensure that you therefore wake up early in the morning to study instead of tossing in your bed for As a door turns on its hinges, so does the lazy man on his bed. (Proverbs 26: 14)

4. Study consistently
Study consistently by setting specific study times each day and keeping them.
For the best results, summarize the key points of each topic from your class notes and textbooks in a revision exercise book each weekend while the lessons are still fresh in your mind as this will reduce your revision time when the exams draw near. E.g. In mathematics, write down the formulas for each topic with one example of how to apply it.

As you study, take 15 minutes breaks after studying for 1-2 hours to rest and replenish your energy. You can take a walk, chat, eat, or drink water.

5. Sleep adequately
Sleep for 7 - 9 hours each night to rest your body and avoid sleep deprivation which results in poor concentration and low retention.

6. Commit your work to God
After you have done your best preparing for your exams Commit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established. (Proverbs 16:3) To do this you can say the following prayer:
Heavenly Father I come to You in the name of Jesus and I commit all the work and studying I have done this term. I ask that You bless it dear Lord and help me to pass my exams.
