Relaxation Tips: Schedule self care, Transcribe feelings, Unplug for a day

The following relaxation tips can help you manage stress more effectively:

Schedule Self-Care

Self-care is simply taking care of yourself but it is a very important facet of stress management because it allows you to give to yourself some of the things that you may not be receiving from your stressful situation like tender love and care.

Therefore, spend a few minutes every day engaging in activities that nourish your mind, body, and spirit. For example, you can accomplish these three goals each day by reading a chapter from your favorite book, bathing with your favorite bath gel and singing your favorite Christian praise songs.

For optimum results prepare a self-care basket by filling a bag with items that feed you holistically. These can include your favorite books, magazines, chocolate, biscuits, and an MP3 player loaded with your best "banish the blues' songs.

Transcribe Feelings

Transcribing your feelings from your body to a paper can help you feel better because it releases repressed emotions.

Therefore take your favorite pen and write your heart out until you feel lighter because of having released the stressful things that were weighing you down.

If it makes you feel any better, shred the pieces of paper you have vented on to signify tearing your problems and this will also to keep your issues private.

Unplug for a Day

Disconnecting from electronics can help you connect with the people who can help you manage your stress like close friends and even God.

Detoxing from these devices also reduces the stress that comes from having to be on your toes to respond to texts and emails that do not really require your urgent attention.

Therefore schedule an electronics-free day or weekend when you will unplug your computer, laptop, tablet, phone and all other electronic gadgets. Utilize your newfound freedom to relax in nature and communicate face to face with those who are nearest and dearest to you.
