1. Submit to GodSubmit to God, resist the devil and he will flee from you. (James 4:7)
To understand how you can submit to God and resist the devil at the same time, imagine yourself standing with your face towards God and your arms raised up in submission to what He wants while your back is towards the devil in resistance to what he wants.
If you find yourself cracking because of pressure from the devil, pray and ask God to give you the strength to continue resisting.
Then have faith that God will help you and declare:
"I may be hard-pressed on every side but I am not crushed.
I may be perplexed but I am not desperate.
I may be persecuted but I am not forsaken.
I may be struck down but I am not destroyed." (Adapted 2 Corinthians 4:8)
