Obey God

When Jonah was in his depressing situation which he described as, “The waters surrounded me up to my soul. The deep closed around me and weeds were wrapped around my head. I went down to the moorings of the mountains and the earth’s bars closed around me”, (Jonah 2:5-6) we know that cause of his problems was his disobedience to God because he went to Tarshish while God wanted him to go to Nineveh.

Therefore, if “Troubles have surrounded you up to your core and deep problems have closed in around you and worries have wrapped themselves around your head and you have sank down, weighed down by mountainous problems and the grave seems to be closing in around you,” (Jonah 2:5-6) reflect on your life and if you have gone to the left while God wanted you to go to the right. Analyse your life and do what God wants you to do because you can’t fight God and win.

Depression for Dummies

1. Go through your medications and see if any of them may be contributing to your depression. If they are and if you are not sure, consult your doctor.

2. Pray and ask God to reveal to you if you have disobeyed him in any way (if it is not clear in your conscience) and then set out to do the right thing in God’s eyes.
