Sunday Q and A Session 4

Bible verses to fight feeling condemned and condemnation

Bible Verses to Fight Condemnation
Bible verses to fight condemnation include:
1. If any person is in Christ, they are a new creation because old things have passed away and all things have become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

To claim this Bible verse and use it to defeat thoughts and feelings of condemnation, you have to be in Christ or get saved.

To get saved say with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord" and believe in your heart that when He died for our sins, God raised Him from the dead and you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)
Put on the helmet of salvation Ephesians 6

2. One thing I do is, forgetting those things which are behind I reach forward to those things which are ahead. (Philippians 3:13)

This is an awesome Bible verse to confess and meditate on when thoughts of the evil things you did in your past enter your mind trying to make you feel condemned because of the mistakes in your past.

It is also a great Bible verse to remind yourself when people remind you of the bad things you did in your past so that they can keep you chained in feelings of guilt and remorse instead of enjoying the freedom of Christ.
One thing I do is, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those which are ahead, I press toward the goal Philippians 3:13-14

3. I am free and free indeed because he/she who the Son sets free is free indeed. (Philippians 3:13)

This is a good Scripture to remind yourself when your past creeps up on you and tries to make you feel condemned.
I am free and free indeed because he/she who the Son sets free is free indeed John 8:36

4. As far as the East is from the West, so far has God removed my sins from me. (Psalm 103:12)

This is another great Bible verse to remind yourself every morning so that you can start your day without feeling condemned.

5. God did not send His Son to condemn the world. He sent Him so that the world might be saved through Him. (John 3:17)

6. If your heart condemns you, God is greater than your heart and He knows all things. (Adapted 1 John 3:20)
This is a great Bible verse to remind yourself whenever feelings of condemnation cross your mind.

7. I do not condemn you. (John 8:11)
Meditate on this Bible verses and visualize Jesus saying it to you the way He said it to the woman who had been caught committing adultery to fight condemnation.

How to Stop Feeling Condemned as a Christian
If you want to stop feeling condemned as a Christian I suggest that you follow these steps:
1. Confess your sins to God
Confess the things that you did that make you feel condemned to God because the Bible tells us that If we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to purify us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)

To confess your sins, you can pray, Heavenly Father I ask You in the name of Jesus to forgive me of (name your sins).

You can also pray, Heavenly Father I ask You in the name of Jesus not to withhold your tender mercies from me.

Let your loving-kindness and truth always keep me safe because I am surrounded by many problems and my sins have caught up with me so that I am not able to look up.

I am discouraged because they are more than the hairs of my head but please O Lord God, help me. (Psalm 40:11-13)

2. Receive God's forgiveness
After asking God to forgive you, you have to receive His forgiveness by believing that He has forgiven you even if you do not feel forgiven.

To help you feel forgiven, you can pray, Father God I thank you because You are good and ready to forgive. You are also abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You (Psalm 86:5) like I do today and I thank You for forgiving me of my sins.

You can also remind yourself of If your heart condemns you, God is greater than your heart and He knows all things (Adapted 1 John 3:20) whenever thoughts of condemnation enter your mind after you have confessed your sins to God.

3. Right the wrongs
Righting the wrongs you have done is another important thing you can do to stop feeling condemned as a Christian.

A rough guide to follow when compensating people for the harm you have caused them is to give them four times what they have lost through your actions. We can see this from Zacchaeus who told Jesus, If I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I will restore it to them fourfold. (Luke 19:8)

King David also declared that the rich man who had slaughtered the poor man's lamb for his guest should also Restore fourfold for the ewe lamb. (2 Samuel 12:6)

Therefore if you have stolen $1000, make an effort to repay back $4000.

If the wrong that you did does not involve money, estimate the monetary value of the harm you caused the way a Judge in a Court of law would calculate a pain and suffering settlement.

As you do so, ask God's Holy Spirit to guide you in this matter. Perfect examples of such cases include spreading rumors that destroyed a person's reputation, marriage or career.

If the person you harmed with your words or deeds has died or moved or if trying to contact them to right the wrong would cause them more harm, do the good deed to a less fortunate member of your society.

For example, you can give decide to buy food worth $10 each month for a homeless person until you clear your "debt" of $4000. You can also pledge to give a Christian ministry which feeds orphans $10 each month until you clear your "debt".

4. Sin no more
As you work on righting the wrongs you have done, you also have to stop doing those same wrongs and all other wrongs.

We see this from Jesus who told the woman who had been caught committing adultery for He told her, I do not condemn you, go and sin no more. (John 8:11)

Therefore make a commitment to yourself that you will stop sinning and try to always do the right thing in the sight of God.

Make it a point to especially stop doing the things that make you feel condemned as a Christian so that after you  have received God's forgiveness and have been washed by the blood of Jesus you do not behave like A dog which returns to its own vomit or a pig, which having been washed goes back to wallow in the mire (2 Peter 2:22) so that you can stop wallowing in feelings of condemnation.

5. Stop receiving condemnation
If people try to make you feel condemned by reminding you of what you did in the past, do not receive their condemnation since God has already forgiven you for those sins.

To do this remind yourself that All people have sinned and fallen short of the grace of God. (Romans 3:23) This means that even though their sins are not known publicly like yours, they are also sinners and so they do not have any right to try and make you feel guilty.

Another Bible verse you can meditate on when people are saying or doing things to try to make you feel condemned is, Who is the person who condemns us? For Jesus died for us and is risen and seated at the right hand of God and He also intercedes for us. (Romans 8:34)

How to fight addiction with Scripture

Fighting Addiction with Scripture
Fighting addiction with Scripture can be done by following these Christian 12 Steps:
Step 1
Admit that you need help with your addiction because it is written:
It is no longer I who do it but it is the sin that lives in me. For I know that nothing good lives inside my flesh because the will is present in me but how to do what is good I am able. For the good that I want to do, I do not do but I do the evil I do not want to do. So if I do what I do not want to do, it is not I who does it but the sin that lives in me. (Romans 7:17-20)

The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. (Matthew 26:41)

Step 2
Believe that God through His Son Jesus Christ can help you overcome this addiction because it is written:
With God all things are possible. (Matthew 19:26)

God’s grace is sufficient for me because His strength is made perfect in my weakness. (Adapted 2 Corinthians 12:7-9)

God did not send His Son to condemn the world. He sent Him so that the world might be saved through Him. (John 3:17)
With God all things are possible Matthew 19:26

Step 3
Decide to follow Jesus so that you can receive His help by getting saved. To do this, Say with your mouth that "Jesus is Lord" and believe in your heart that when He died for our sins, God raised Him from the dead and you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)

After getting saved ask God to fill you with His Holy Spirit because it is written:
When an unclean spirit leaves a person it goes through dry places looking for a place to rest. When it does not find any, it says, “I will return from where I came from.” When it comes back, it finds it swept and in order. It then goes and takes 7 other spirits which are more wicked than itself and they enter that person to live in him and the last state of that person is worse than the first. (Luke 11:24-26)

Therefore ask God to fill you with His Holy Spirit so that when you expel any evil spirits associated with your addiction, if they try to come back to control your life again, they will find the Holy Spirit dwelling in your body which is the Temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19)

To do this you can pray, Heavenly Father I ask You in the name of Jesus to fill me with your Holy Spirit since it is written that if we ask, it will be given and if we ask You for the Holy Spirit, you will give Him to those who ask. (Luke 11:9-12)
My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit 1 Corinthians 6:19

Step 4
Decide to examine yourself and write down your sins because it is written:
Let us examine ourselves and return to the Lord. (Lamentations 3:40)

Step 5
Confess your sins to God and to another human being because it is written:
If we confess our sins to God, He is faithful and just and He will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all wrongdoing. (1 John 1:9)

Confess your sins to one another and pray for one another so that you may be healed. (James 5:16)

If you do not have someone you can trust you can confess them anonymously online for example for example by Contacting Us.

Step 6
Receive God's forgiveness after confessing your sins to Him because it is written:
As far as the east is from the west, so far has God removed my sins from me. (Adapted Psalm 103:12)

To receive God's forgiveness, simply believe that He has forgiven you even if you do not feel forgiven.

As far as the east is from the west so far has God removed my sins from me Psalm 103:12

Step 7
Ask God for help and seek for ways to overcome all your character defects like anger, bitterness, complaining, criticism, guilt, impatience, low self-esteem, negativity, and resentment because it is written:
Ask and it shall be given. Seek and you will find. (Matthew 7:7)

To help you deal with anger you can read Christian Anger Management by Dr. Miriam Kinai.
To help you deal with guilt and condemnation you can read How to Fight Condemnation with Bible Verses by Dr. Miriam Kinai.
To help you deal with impatience you can read How to Fight Impatience with Bible Verses by Dr. Miriam Kinai.
To help you deal with low self-esteem you can read How to Fight for your Self Esteem with Bible Verses by Dr. Miriam Kinai.
To help you deal with self-hatred you can read How to Fight for Self Love with Bible Verses by Dr. Miriam Kinai.
To help you deal with pride you can read How to Fight Pride with Bible Verses by Dr. Miriam Kinai.
Ask and it shall be given to you, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened. Matthew 7:7

Step 8
Write down all the people you have wronged for example by stealing to buy the addictive substance or by using your employer's time to surf websites that feed your addiction because it is written:
If you are about to offer your gift to God at the altar and you remember that a person has something against you, leave your gift in front of the altar and go to make peace with that person and then come back and offer your gift to God. (Matthew 5:23-24)

Step 9
Decide how you will right the wrongs you have done to those people because it is written:
If you are about to offer your gift to God at the altar and you remember that a person has something against you, leave your gift in front of the altar and go to make peace with that person and then come back and offer your gift to God. (Matthew 5:23-24)

As you do this keep in mind that when compensating people for the harm you have caused them is best to give them four times what they have lost through your actions.

Therefore if you have stolen $1000 to enable your addiction, make an effort to pay back $4000.

If the wrong that you did not involve money, estimate the monetary value of the harm you caused the way a Judge in a Court of law would calculate a pain and suffering settlement. As you do so, ask God's Holy Spirit to guide you in this matter.

If the person you harmed with your words or deeds has died or moved or if trying to contact them to right the wrong would cause them more harm, do the good deed to someone dealing with an addiction. For example, you can decide to give the money to an organization which helps people fight addiction.

Step 10
Commit to examining your thoughts, words, and actions each day because it is written:
Let each person examine their own work so that they will rejoice in themselves alone and not in another for each person shall bear their own load. (Galatians 6:4-5)

To do this:
1. Monitor your thoughts and replace all addiction related thoughts by thinking on Scriptures that neutralize those thoughts.

For example, if thoughts of engaging in sexual immorality enter your mind, neutralize them by thinking/meditation on My body is not for sexual immorality. It is for the Lord. (1 Corinthians 6:13)

2. Monitor your words and stop speaking any addiction related words. Replace them by confessing Scriptures that negates your specific addiction.

For example, if you find yourself talking about looking at immoral pictures confess I will not look at anything evil. (Psalm 101:3)

Another awesome Bible verses that you can use a Christian meditation and affirmation to fight all types of addiction is God is faithful. He will not allow me to be tempted more than I can bear because with each temptation there will always be a way of escape. (1 Corinthians 10:13)

3. Monitor your actions and stop engaging in any addiction related behavior. Replace those behaviors with activities like exercising.

Physical exercise is a great activity to overcome any addiction because it can be done during the time you engaged in the addictive behavior. It can also be done alone if you find that you have lost all your friends after you stopped engaging in the addictive behavior. Physical exercise is also great for reducing symptoms like stress that may develop after ceasing to engage in the addictive behavior.

Therefore begin a simple exercise program. This can involve stretching, aerobic and weight bearing exercises. If you have been following a sedentary lifestyle, consult your doctor first before you begin exercising.
I will not look at anything evil Psalm 101:3

Step 11
Commit to continuing to communicate with God each day since it is written:
Pray without ceasing. (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

Combine this with reading the Bible each day so that you can know how He wants you to live and ensure you do as it says for we are to be Be doers of the Word and not just hearers and thereby deceiving yourself. (James 1:22)

Commit to also going to a Bible teaching Church on Sundays for we are told, Do not forsake gathering together with other believers. (Hebrews 10:25)
With God all things are possible Matthew 19:26

Step 12
Commit to helping another person who is struggling with an addiction because it is written:
If a person is caught up in any type of wrongdoing, you who are spiritual should restore that person with a spirit of gentleness making sure that you yourself are not tempted. (Galatians 6:1)

I suggest that you also read How to Fight Addiction with Bible Verses by Dr. Miriam Kinai.

Bible verses to overcome laziness

How to Overcome Laziness Bible Verses
How to overcome laziness Bible verses include:

A. Characteristics of a lazy person Bible verses:
Bible verses that teach us the characteristics of a lazy person include:
1. The lazy person says, "There is a lion in the road, a fierce lion is in the streets"(Proverbs 26:13)
This shows us that a lazy person is full of excuses. They are prone to giving excuses for why they do not do what they know they are supposed to do.

2. As a door turns on its hinges, so does a lazy person turn on their bed. (Proverbs 26:14)
This shows us that a lazy person does not achieve anything just like a door which moves a lot but it does not get anywhere.

3. The lazy person buries their hand in the bowl because they are too tired to bring it to their mouth(Proverbs 26:15)
This shows us that the lazy person can starve in the middle of abundance because they are too tired to do the work that is required. A good example is a person with an apple tree starving because but they are too lazy to pick the apples and take them to market to sell them.

4. The lazy person is wiser in their own eyes than seven truly wise people(Proverbs 26:16)
This shows us that the lazy person is not wise but they actually deceive themselves by thinking that they are not only wise but that they are wiser than many people.
Open your eyes early and you shall be satisfied with bread Proverbs 20:13

B. Adverse effects of laziness Bible verses
Bible verses that teach us the harmful effects of being lazy include:
1. The desire of the lazy person kills them because their hands refuse to work. (Proverbs 21:25)

2. The person who is lazy with their work is just as bad as a destructive person. (Proverbs 18:9)

3. The building decays because of laziness and the house leaks because of idleness. (Ecclesiastes 10:18)

4. How long will you lie around, O sluggard?
When will you wake up from your sleep?
A little sleep, a little nap, a little folding of the hands to rest is what will cause poverty to attack you like an armed robber. (Proverbs 6:10-11)

5. I passed by the field of the lazy person, the vineyard of the one who lacks understanding and it was full of thorns and covered with weeds.
Its stone wall was also broken down.
When I saw it, I thought about it, examined it and learned a lesson: a little sleep, a little nap and a little folding of the hands to rest shall cause poverty to attack you like an armed robber. (Proverbs 24:30-34)
A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest and so shall poverty come upon you like a robber and need like an armed man Proverbs 24:33-34

This proverb can also be adapted to a lazy blogger as follows:
I surfed the net and landed on the blog of a lazy person, the website of one who lacks understanding and it was full of flashing banners and covered with typos.
Its links were also broken.
When I saw it, I thought about it, examined it and learned a lesson: a little sleep, a little nap and a little folding of the hands to rest shall cause poverty to attack you like an armed robber. (Proverbs 24:30-34)
I am becoming rich because I am diligent Proverbs 13:4

C. Bible verses to help you overcome laziness
Bible verses that you can use to help you overcome laziness include:
1. Go to the ant, you sluggard and consider her ways so that you can be wise. (Proverbs 6:6)
This shows us that we have to study ants if we want to overcome laziness.

So what can the ants teach us about defeating laziness?
a. The ants do not have a leader, overseer or ruler but they store up their supplies during summer and gather their food during harvest. (Proverbs 6:7-8)

This means that ants do not have a boss or supervisor telling them what to do but they motivate themselves to do the right things at the right time.

This proverb also teaches that the ants do the right thing at the right time since they gather their food during harvest and store up their supplies during summer and not in winter.

Therefore do not wait for people to motivate you. Learn to encourage yourself so that you can do what you have to do at the right time by setting goals. To learn more read Christian Goal Setting by Dr. Miriam Kinai.
Christian goal setting

In addition to setting goals, you should also meditate on anti-laziness Bible like the following so that you can stop being lazy:
1. The person who tills the land will have plenty to eat, but the one who is frivolous will be very poor. (Proverbs 28:19)

2. I am becoming rich because I am diligent. (Adapted Proverbs 13:4)

3. Open your eyes early and you shall be satisfied with bread. (Proverbs 20:13)

Is insomnia a form of demonic oppression?

Is Insomnia a Form of Demonic Oppression?
To answer your question of "Is insomnia as a form of demonic oppression?" I would first like to answer the questions "What is demonic oppression?" and What is demonic possession?

Demonic possession is being controlled by demons or evil spiritual forces.

Demonic oppression is being influenced by the same evil spiritual forces.

Signs of Demonic Oppression
Demons can harass a person in all facets of their life and cause:
1. Physical symptoms that do not have a medical explanation like the woman who was Bent double and could not straighten herself up for her condition was caused by a spirit as Jesus said satan had bound her for 18 years (Luke 13:11-18).

Other physical symptoms that can be caused by demonic oppression include insomnia or sleeplessness, nightmares, addictions, self-mutilation and other self-destructive tendencies like suicide attempts.

2. Mental symptoms like depression and anxiety.

3. Emotional symptoms like excessive anger, fear, hopelessness, negativity, and confusion.

4. Spiritual symptoms like becoming apathetic to God's teachings, distractions when reading the Bible, breaking God's commandments, becoming interested in false religions and doing other evil things that a person in bondage to sin so that they can go to hell.

5. Financial symptoms like cycles of problems that cause financial strain.
Meditate within your heart on your bed and be still Psalm 4:4

Causes of Insomnia
The causes of insomnia include:
1. Medical causes of insomnia like asthma, allergies, gastroesophageal acid reflux disease (GERD), hyperthyroidism and chronic pain caused by conditions like cancer and arthritis. Sleep disorders like restless leg syndrome and sleep apnea also cause insomnia.

2. Medications that can cause insomnia include some cold and flu meds, antidepressants, stimulants, corticosteroids, thyroid hormones and some high blood pressure medications.

3. Psychological problems like anxiety, depression, stress, worry.

4. Demonic possession and oppression.
Therefore the answer to your question of "Is insomnia as a form of demonic oppression?" is "Yes, insomnia can be caused by demonic oppression."
In the night His song will be with me Psalm 42:8

Treatment of Insomnia
The treatment of insomnia should include:
1. Physical Treatment of Insomnia
The physical treatment of insomnia should include consulting a doctor so that they can examine you and do any required tests to find out if there are any underlying causes for your insomnia.

2. Spiritual Treatment of Insomnia
The spiritual treatment of insomnia includes:
a. Praying anti insomnia prayers like Father God, I ask you in the name of Jesus to help me to lie down and sleep and sustain me until I wake up in the morning. (Adapted Psalm 3:5)

b. Meditating on anti insomnia Scriptures when you find yourself awake in the middle of the night like God gives His beloved sleep (Psalm 127:2) and I will lie down and my sleep will be sweet. (Adapted Proverbs 3:24)

c. Playing Christian worship music on a very low volume during the night since In the night His song will be with me. (Psalm 42:8) This is very effective especially if your insomnia is related to either demonic oppression.

d. Stopping to open yourself up to demonic influence by not committing sexual sin, using illicit drugs, listening to music with demonic themes or created by musicians dedicated to the devil. Other ways of opening yourself to demons is practicing witchcraft, fortune telling, doing yoga, fortune telling, using tarot cards, ouija boards or engaging in the occult in any other way.

3. Believe that Jesus has forgiven all our sins and He has wiped out the things that were written against us and He has taken them out of the way by nailing them to the cross. (Colossians 2:13-14)

4. Stop sinning.

Prayers for families that are fighting

Prayers for Families that are Fighting
Prayers for families that are fighting include:
1. Heavenly Father we are gathered here in the name of Jesus and in agreement to pray for our family. We therefore ask You in the name of Jesus to help us find solutions for the problems that are causing fights in our family because Jesus said that If 2 of you agree about anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven because where 2 or 3 are gathered in My name, I am there with them. (Matthew 18:19-20)

2. Heavenly Father our family is flooded with problems which are making us fight. We therefore ask You in the name of Jesus to help us for it is written that When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him. (Isaiah 59:19)
When the enemy comes in like a flood the Spirit of the Lord lifts up a standard against him. Isaiah 59:19

3. Heavenly Father, we ask You in the name of Jesus to open a way for us to make money so that we can provide for the needs of our family. (1 Timothy 5:8)
This prayer is based on the fact that many fights in families are caused by money problems. It is derived from the Bible which says, Where do fights among you come? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war within you? You lust but you do not have. You murder and covet but you do not obtain. You fight and quarrel and yet you do not have because you do not ask. And when you ask, you do not receive because your motives are bad. (James 4:1-3)

4. Heavenly Father we ask You in the name of Jesus to put a hedge of protection around this family and all that we have and to bless the works of our hands so that our possessions increase. (Job 1:10) We also plead the blood of Jesus on our family and declare that no weapon formed against this family shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) in the name of Jesus.
No weapon formed against me shall prosper Isaiah 54:17

5. Heavenly Father, we ask You in the name of Jesus to help us solve these problems that are causing fights in our family. We thank You Father for the blessings You have already given our family and the ones You are going to give us. (Adapted Philippians 4:6)
Do not be anxious about anything. In every situation combine prayer and supplication with thanksgiving as you make your requests known to God. Philippians 4:6

6. Heavenly Father we ask You in the name of Jesus to help us solve these problems that are causing fights in our family and we also thank You because we know that With God nothing is impossible. (Matthew 19:26)
With God all things are possible Matthew 19:26

Come to Jesus as a Family
After praying, you have to come to Jesus as a family if you are tired of all the fighting because He tells us, Come to Me all you who labor and are heavy burdened and I will give you rest. Take up My Yoke and learn from Me because I am meek and humble and you will find rest for your souls. (Matthew 11:28-29)
Come to me all of you who are weary and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28

To come to Jesus, you have to get saved.

To get saved, you say with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord" and believe in your heart that when He died for our sins God raised Him from the dead and you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)

Therefore, get saved right now and ask your spouse and children who can understand to also get saved.
As for me and my house we will serve the Lord Joshua 24:15

After getting saved, you have to take up the Yoke of Jesus which are the instructions for life that He gives us.

Therefore make it a point to read the Bible together as a family once a day so that you can learn how Jesus wants you to live as a family.

This is important because Jesus taught, Whoever hears these sayings of Mine and does them is like a wise person who build his house on the rock for when the rain fell and the floods came and the winds blew and beat on that house, it did not fall because it was founded on the rock.

However, everyone who hears these sayings of Mine and does not do them is like a foolish man who built his house on the sand because when the rain fell and the floods came and the winds blew and beat on that house, it fell and its fall was great. (Matthew 7:24-27)

Therefore if you do not want your family to fall because of the problems hitting it from all directions, you have to be Be doers of the word and do not deceive yourselves by being just hearers (James 1:22) or just readers who do not take action.
