The birth of Jesus Christ was as follows:
After His mother Mary was engaged to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be expecting a Child of the Holy Spirit. Then Joseph her husband to be, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public spectacle, thought of ending their relationship privately.
But, while Joseph thought about this issue, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to marry Mary because she carries a conception of the Holy Spirit and she will deliver a Son, and you shall name Him Jesus because He will save His people from their sins.”
...
The Joseph being woken from sleep, did as the Lord’s angel had commanded him and married Mary. But, he did not know her until she had delivered her first born son whom he named Jesus.
...
After Jesus was born, wise men came from the East to worship Him.
...
When the wise men had departed, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, and instructed him to, “Arise, take baby Jesus and His mother, and flee to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you because Herod will search for the young Child to destroy Him.”
When Joseph woke up, he took baby Jesus and His mother Mary by night, left for Egypt, and remained there until King Herod died, that it might be fulfilled what God spoken through the prophet Hosea, “Out of Egypt I called My Son”.
...
After Herod’s death, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream in Egypt, and instructed him to, “Arise, take baby Jesus and His mother Mary, and return to the land of Israel because those who sought the young Childs’s life are dead.”
Then Joseph woke up, took baby Jesus and His mother Mary and returned to the land of Israel. (Matthew 1:18-2:21)
***
These Christmas Scriptures show us that Mary experienced a lot of problems around the birth of her baby Jesus. The first was that her relationship with Joseph was threatened because she was found to be pregnant before they were married.

This problem of Mary teaches us that sometimes when God enables us to conceive “things” inside us like ministries through the power of the Holy Spirit like Mary had conceived Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit, we may encounter problems in our personal and even professional lives.

This “problem” with Joseph that Mary encountered was a big problem because not only would their relationship end, but she would be a public disgrace once the reason for their break up came out. In addition to this, there was probably little that Mary could do to convince Joseph to remain with her. This was probably the worst thing for Mary but it shows us that those problems which we can do nothing about, God can intervene like He did for her and solve our problems for us.

Therefore, when you encounter big problems that you can’t solve as you go about in obedience to God’s call, do not despair. Hand over your problems to God as you continue serving Him and let Him do for you what you cannot do for yourself.

Note that the Bible does not say that Mary thought of ending her pregnancy because it had brought problems to her relationship so that she could solve this relationship issues. Therefore, do not think of terminating your ministry in an attempt to solve the financial or relationship or social problems that may have begun once you started your ministry. Focus on God’s call on your life and delivering what He has deposited in you as you leave Him to solve the humanly “impossible” problems.

Understand also that God is able to provide you with the best solution for your problems like He did for Mary because He gave a very good husband. We know that Joseph was a good husband because his life was severely “disrupted” by agreeing to marry Mary who was pregnant with a “Child” that was biologically not his because he was able to stick with her and Baby Jesus through all the midnight escapades to and from foreign lands.

How to Fight Temptation with Bible Verses

How to Fight Temptation with Bible Verses

How to Fight Temptation with Bible Verses
Regardless of whether you are tempted to use illicit drugs or abuse prescription medications, alcohol and cigarettes or watch pornography, fornicate, commit adultery, murder, steal, lie or sin in any other way, you have to combine spiritual, mental, and physical interventions to form your own holistic deliverance ministry so that you do not succumb to the temptation.

The first spiritual step for overcoming temptation is to pray and ask Jesus to help you because the Bible tells us that We do not have a High Priest who is not able to sympathize with us in our weaknesses. We have One who has been tempted in all ways that we are tempted and yet He did not sin. Therefore, let us boldly come to the throne of grace so that we may find mercy and grace to help us in our time of need. (Hebrews 4:15-16)

Therefore, begin praying in the middle of the tempting situation and ask Jesus to help you overcome it.

As you pray, use Scriptures since The sword of the spirit is the Word of God. (Ephesians 6:17)

Bible verses that you can use as spiritual warfare prayers or personal deliverance prayers to help you resist temptation include:
1. Father God, this temptation that I am facing is not an unusual temptation because other people also face it. But, You are faithful and You will not allow me to be tempted beyond what I am able to bear. Therefore, I ask You in the name of Jesus to show me the way out of this temptation so that I can resist it. (Adapted 1 Corinthians 10:13)
God is faithful. He will not allow me to be tempted more than I can bear. Because with each temptation there will always be a way of escape. 1 Corinthians 10:13

After praying look around to see how you can leave the tempting situation immediately. Learn from Joseph when Potiphar’s wife was tempting him to commit adultery for he fled and left the tempting situation in haste without even bothering to take back his cloak from her hand. (Genesis 39:12) Therefore, look for an exit and take it immediately.

If the way out of your tempting situation is not yet clear and you are not able to leave in haste, there are several things you can do to help you avoid succumbing to the temptation:

1. Stop looking at the temptation
The first thing you need to do to resist the temptation regardless of whether it is a person who wants you sin sexually with them or it is an illicit drug, alcohol or cigarettes you are being offered is to stop looking at the temptation. Learn from Eve because looking at the tempting fruit was her downfall for When Eve saw that the tree was good for food and that it was pleasing to the eyes and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took its fruit and ate it. (Gen 3:6)

Therefore, avert your gaze from the temptation because if you continue staring at it, your perception of it will begin to change. It will begin to look like it can offer you a pleasurable experience or a new experience or add value to your life in some way.  The temptation will then begin to change from being a definite NO to a MAYBE and finally into a YES. You will then find a reason to justify yielding to the temptation and doing the wrong thing.

How to Fight Loneliness with Bible Verses
Regardless of whether you are a widow or a widower, a spinster or a senior bachelor, separated or divorced, alone in your thirties or sixties, understand that you have to combine spiritual and social interventions to form your own holistic deliverance ministry to fight loneliness.

The first spiritual step for dealing with loneliness is to pray and Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. (James 4:8) Reconnect with Him spiritually and ask Him to fill the void you feel within your being as He heals the ache of loneliness.

Learn to view God as your Almighty Counselor and show Him the needs arising from the depths of your loneliness as you lie on His couch since He is the only One who knows how best to fill them because He is the One who made you.

Ask Him also to send You His Holy Spirit who is our Comforter so that you can cope with loneliness better as He teaches you how to deal with it.

As you pray, use Scriptures since the Word of God is the Sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17) that God has given us to fight with. We will therefore call the Scriptures that we will use to SWORD WORDS.

SWORD WORDS that you can use as personal deliverance prayers for loneliness include:
1. Father God, it is written in Matthew 7:7, “Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened. ” Therefore, I ask You in the name of Jesus for the right companion to relieve my loneliness, guidance as I seek solutions for my loneliness and that You may open the doors of opportunities to permanently resolve my loneliness.

2. Father God, turn Yourself to me, and have mercy on me O Lord for I am desolate. (Psalm 25:16)
I will not leave you nor forsake you. Joshua 1:5

In addition to praying for yourself, ask your Pastor to pray for you and attend Deliverance services so that you can learn different spiritual warfare prayers and receive deliverance from the spirit of loneliness.

After praying, put on the helmet of salvation since it is one of the weapons of our warfare being part of the armor of God that we need to put on to fight our spiritual battles. (Ephesians 6:14-17)

All you need to put on this helmet of salvation is to say with your mouth that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead when He died for our sins and you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)

The next step for dealing with loneliness is the mental one of removing all negative thoughts on loneliness from your mind so that you can Be renewed in the spirit of your mind. (Ephesians 4:23) To do this, set specific meditation session during the day when you can meditate on the following spiritual warfare scriptures:
1. Lo, (insert your name) I am with you always, upto the end. (Adapted Matthew 28:20)

2. When my father and my mother and family and friends forsake me, the Lord will take care of me. (Adapted Psalm 27:10)

3. I will not forget you (insert your name). (Adapted Isaiah 49:15)
