Insurance for Answered Prayers

There are several things that you can do to increase your chances of having your prayers answered and getting what you want from God.
Abide in Jesus
The first thing you have to do is to remain in Jesus and let His words remain in you for then He promises you whatever you wish, if you ask for it, it will be given to you. (John 15:7)

Do Not Ask Amiss
The second thing you have to do is to ensure that you are not asking amiss for then you will surely miss the answer to your prayers. (James 4:3) Therefore increase your chances of having your prayers answered by ensuring you are asking with the right motives in your heart and do not pray with selfish or corrupt or decadent motives.

Set Your Heart On What You Want
The third thing is to set your heart on what you want. Learn from Daniel who waited for 3 weeks for his answer from God. (Daniel 10:12-14) When the angel arrived with his answer, he told him that from the first day that Daniel had set his heart to understand, his words were heard in heaven.

Therefore set your heart on whatever you wish God to give you regardless of whether it is healing, a husband, a wife, wealth, a child, a career, money or a ministry. Set your heart on it and you will receive it just as Daniel set his heart on understanding and he received it.

Wait Expectantly
The fourth thing you should do to increase the chances of your prayers being answered is to wait expectantly. Wait certain that your prayer has been received in Heaven and your answer is on its way to you. Wait without letting the fiery darts of doubts scorch your confidence in God’s ability to answer your prayers.

Do not let skepticism shake that conviction. Do not be double-minded, one minute certain you will receive it and the next not sure if prayers are heard let alone answered as this will markedly reduce your chances of getting it for a double-minded doubting Thomas or Thomasina should not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord. (James 1:6-8)

Therefore insure your prayers to ensure they are answered by waiting without doubting whether you have to wait for 3 seconds, 3 minutes, 3 days, 3 months, 3 years or 3 decades.

How to Fight for your Children

How to fight for your children

If your children are always getting sick or they have developed deviant behaviors or their school performance has suddenly dropped for no apparent reason, understand that they may be under attack by the enemy.

Therefore, as you seek solutions for their problems in the physical realm by consulting their doctors, vetting their friends and talking to their teachers, understand that you also have to seek solutions for their problems in the spiritual realm.

The Bible tells us that the SWORD of the Spirit is the WORD of God (Ephesians 6:17) therefore, you have to use this SWORD to fight for your children.

Begin by praying and asking God to help them overcome their childhood and teenage stress without developing long term adverse sequelae.

Then, pray the WORD of God over them. Scriptures you can pray include:
Heavenly Father I ask You in the name of Jesus to help my children grow and become strong in the spirit, filled with wisdom and may Your grace O God be upon them.” (Adapted Luke 2:40)

Heavenly Father I ask You in the name of Jesus to help my children increase in wisdom and in stature and in favor with You O God and with people. (Adapted Luke 2:52)
Prayers for your children from the Bible

After praying, you then have to train up your children in the way in which they should go. (Proverbs 22:6) Do this by commanding them to keep the way of the Lord. (Genesis 18:19) Teach them about Jesus Christ who is The Way and the truth and the life. (John 14:6)

Read Bible stories to the younger children and urge the older ones to regularly read it for themselves. This will help them sidestep many sources of childhood and teenage stress that they may encounter when they are not with you at home.

Do the best that you can as a parent by living right and then commit your children to the Lord as you confess Christian affirmations for children like the following over them:
All my children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of my children. (Adapted Isaiah 54:13)

A righteous person walks in integrity and his children are blessed after him. (Proverbs 20:7)

God will save my children. (Adapted Isaiah 49:25)

How to Manage Anger

When someone tries to ignite the fire of ire inside you, remind yourself that a person who is slow to anger is better than the one who is mighty. (Proverbs 16:32)

Then try to ignore the trigger for the discretion of a person makes them slow to anger and their glory is to overlook a transgression. (Proverbs 19:11) Triumph over yourself and over the person trying to infuriate you by ignoring their provocation.

If you do get infuriated, get angry but do not sin (Ephesians 4:26) or make decisions when you are mad (pun intended).

Then, be determined to snuff out anger and do not to let the sun go down on your wrath. (Ephesians 4:26) Extinguish your anger by taking several deep breaths or strolling away to saturate your heart with soothing music.

Do all that you can so that you do not let it simmer inside you for anger rests in the bosom of fools (Ecclesiastes 7:9) before it extinguishes them.

Finally, do not associate with quick tempered people and evade fiery friends lest you learn their ways and set snares for yourself. (Proverbs 22:24-25) Avoid angry people for hot tempered people stir up trouble. (Proverbs 15:18)

If you have to deal with them and they lose their temper, keep quiet until they calm down. If they fly into a rage, walk away before they hit the ceiling. Return once they have cooled down (if you have to) and talk in a cool, calm voice to set the tone for the ensuing conversation.

God Uses Imperfect People

Has God been asking you to do something for Him yet you have been dismissing yourself because of your imperfections?

Have you been wondering “Who am I that God should use me?”

If so, understand that God uses imperfect and insignificant people to achieve His perfect and significant plans if they cooperate with Him.

Gideon
God used Gideon (Judges 6-7) who was threshing wheat while hiding in a winepress to lead an army of just 300 to defeat Israel’s enemies who were as numerous as locusts.

This was the Gideon who said he was unqualified to save Israel because his clan was the weakest and he was the least important person in his father’s house. However, God already knew this when He chose him as Commander in Chief and He promised to be with him.

Therefore don’t let your low self esteem or low socio-economic status or any other problems you may be facing stop you doing God bidding. Understand that when you are low or weak, then God is strong on your behalf and let Him work on you and on your weaknesses as you work on His job and fulfill your life's purpose.

Recognize also that Gideon’s fear did not flee overnight. He kept asking God for signs and God kept providing them until the point when Gideon truly believed that he could do it and he went and did it with God’s help.

Moses
God also used Moses who looked at his qualifications and present life situation as a shepherd in a desert and asked God who he was that he should tell Pharaoh to release the Israelites. (Exodus 3:11)

Moses also told God that he wasn't an eloquent speaker as he stammered but God knew this when He chose Him and He promised He’d be with him, help him speak and teach him what to say. (Exodus 4:10)

Therefore, don’t disqualify yourself because you lack qualifications to do the job God is calling you to do. God’s presence in your life is all the qualifications you need to fulfill His purposes for your life.

Jonah

Why Jonah was such a perfect preacher despite is imperfections

Simon Peter
Jesus used Simon Peter to lead His Church after His ascension to Heaven despite Simon denying Him three times. (Luke 22:54-62)

Therefore, even if you have made many mistakes, don’t write yourself off because God has not written you off. Repent and He will restore you and use you just as He restored and used Simon Peter. (John 21:15-17)

In conclusion, cooperate with God by believing that He knows what He put in you when He created you and don’t disqualify yourself from fulfilling your life's purpose because of your real or perceived flaws or because of other people’s opinions (true or false) of your capabilities or lack thereof.

How to Stop Wearing Yourself Down with Worry

How to Stop Wearing Yourself Down with Worry

Are you physically, mentally or emotionally worn out because of worrying?

If you are, understand you don't have to be regardless of your problems because all you have to do is to heed the Bible for it says, Cast your cares upon Him because He cares for You. (1 Peter 5: 7)

The Bible also urges you to humble yourself under the Mighty Hand of God so that He may lift you up in due time and then cast all your cares, concerns and worries on Him because He cares for you.

Therefore, humble yourself before God by fasting and then tell Him all your worries and the tribulations in your family, finances, ministry, job and other facets of your life because He cares for you.

After telling Him your worries, ask Him to help you solve them and then After telling Him your problems, cast them from your mind into His Mighty Hand because He can handle them. Heave them and then leave them there for Him to solve.

Another reason to cast your cares to the Lord and leave them in His Mighty Hand is so that He can sustain you (Psalm 55: 22) in the stressful situation for this is the best way to stop worries from wearing you down until you develop stress related illnesses.

As you do this casting of worries to God in prayer, understand that the Bible does not say “Cast your burdens and then catch them back”. Therefore, after you have dislodged them from your mind, let them lodge in the Lord's Mighty Hand and continue living purposefully even if the problems have not been resolved.

Decide to lay them down once and for all in His Capable Hand and let Him deal with them so that you can erase the worries from your mind, de-wrinkle your brow and sleep soundly at night.

Why You Should Identify the Root Source of Stress

Why You Should Identify the Root Source of Stress

When dealing with a stressful situation, it is very important to identify the specific source of your stress because of the following reasons:

It Enables You to Manage it Effectively
Identifying the specific source of your stress enables you to manage it more effectively than if you were trying to manage a problem whose root cause you do not know.

For example, if you "feel stressed" every time you deal with some people in a certain place it is important to pinpoint exactly what rubs you the wrong way about those people or that particular place by asking yourself questions like the following:

What is the source of my stress with regards to those people?
Is it their attitude towards me?
Is it their words?
Is it their body language?
Is it their don't care attitude?

What is the source of my stress with regards to that place?
Is it the noise?
Is it the clutter?
Is it the colors or the lighting?
Is it the air of confusion and indecision?

Am I the source of my stress because of entertaining negative thoughts about those people?
Am I stressing myself by entertaining negative thoughts about that place?
Am I entertaining negative thoughts about my anticipated experiences?
Am I afraid?
Am I frustrated?

Therefore create time to analyze your stressful situation so that you can identify the root cause of your stress and deal with it as this will enable you to manage the stressful situation more effectively than if you dealt with the superficial effects of the root cause.

It Reduces Mental Burdens
Identifying the specific source of your stress reduces your mental burdens when you realize that you are dealing with one major cause rather than multiple different problems.

For example, the woman with the issue of blood (Mark 5) had the following problems:
1. Health problems because of her 12-year bleeding disease
2. Financial problems because she had spent all her money looking for a cure
3. Social problems because she was not supposed to socialize because of her bleeding

However, when she approached Jesus she spoke to herself saying, ""If only I touch His garments, I shall be made well". (Mark 5:28) She did not talk about her financial or social problems because may have realized that solving her health problem would solve those other problems for she would not need to spend money on doctors and she could now socialize.

Therefore if you have many problems, analyze them to find out if they are stemming from each other or they are independent problems. Then set out to first solve the independent problems that are causing other problems to develop

It Helps You Pray Effectively
Another advantage of identifying the root source of your problem is that it helps you pray more effectively as you are able to precisely target your prayers.

We can see from Matthew 22:32-33 that when Jesus asked the two blind men sitting at the side of the road what they wanted Him to do for them, they replied saying they wanted Him to open their eyes.

They had identified blindness as their chief source of stress and thus were able to articulate it eloquently to the Lord. They did not mention any other problem they could have been dealing with at that time.

Therefore, identify the root cause of your stressful situation so that if the Lord were to ask you "What do you want?", you can answer Him unambiguously. Name the root source of your stress clearly so that you can pray over it effectively.

How to Prevent Stress Related Illnesses

How to Prevent Stress Related Illnesses

Managing the root cause of stress is the best way to prevent stress related illnesses since these diseases develop when a person lives through a long-standing stressful situation without being able to relax.

However, in some situations, the root cause of the stress does not have a human solution. Examples of these situations include suffering from diseases without a cure or losing a loved one to death.

Learn Relaxation Techniques
If you are dealing with a stressful situation without a human solution, learning effective relaxation techniques can help you relax in the middle of the stressful situation and thus prevent the development of stress related illnesses.

10 Christian stress management techniques

Have Hope in God
Having hope in God can also help you to avert stress related illnesses because it enables you to relax in the midst of the situation because you know that no matter how bad the present facts are or how bleak predictions of the future are, God is still able to resolve the stressful situation for you.

We can see a good example of this from the woman in Mark 5 who had a bleeding disease for 12 years. This woman not only had health issues, but she also had financial issues for she had spent all her money moving from doctor to doctor seeking a cure. In addition, she also had social issues since she was considered unclean.

However, despite suffering for more than a decade with all these issues, she did not lose her hope of being healed or lose her faith in Jesus. We know this because it was her faith in Jesus that enabled her to receive her healing while her hope enabled her to seek healing and not just sit at home and wait to bleed to death.

Therefore regardless of the distressing issues you are dealing and regardless of what specialists have said about your condition, cling to the hope that your situation can change for the better because With God all things are possible. (Matthew 19:26)

Combine your hope with having faith that Jesus Christ can help you bring about this positive change in your circumstances. This is because Jesus can resolve your problems in an instant even if you have been suffering from them for a decade. And, it is your faith in Him that will enable you to receive the miraculous solution to your long-standing stressful situation.

This potent combination of faith and hope will therefore empower you to look for a solution for your stressful problems and enable you to receive a miraculous solution from the Lord.

This powerful combination of faith and hope will also enable you to relax in the middle of the stressful situation and thus help prevent the development of stress related illnesses.

How to Meditate Stress Away

How to Meditate Stress Away

Meditation is a very effective relaxation technique. This is because by focusing your mind on one thought, your heart slows down, tension dissipates and your body is able to relax.

Meditation is also a very convenient stress management technique since you can meditate anywhere and at any time. For example, you can meditate in the morning to get in the right frame of mind to face the new day or you can meditate in the evening on your bed (Psalm 4:4) to switch off from the day’s turmoil.

To utilize meditation for managing stress, find a Scripture that speaks to your specific stressful situation and then give it your complete. For example, if something is terrifying you, meditate on Proverbs 30:5 which declares that God is a shield to those who trust in Him. Focus your mind on God being your Shield and Defender and your fears will begin to melt away.
God is a shield to those who trust Him Proverbs 30:5

If you are feeling overwhelmed by your challenges, meditate on Philippians 4:13 which declares that you can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens you. Focus on the Scripture until you feel Christ's strength seeping into your body and you will gain the confidence to face your gigantic challenges.
I can do all things through Jesus Christ Who strengthens me Philippians 4:13

If you are stressed because everything is going amiss despite your best efforts, meditate on Romans 8:28 which declares that all things work together for good for those who love God and are fulfilling His purpose. Turn this Scripture over in your mind until you are able to surrender the stressful situation to God and it will no longer be able to stress you.
All things work together for the good of those who love God. Romans 8:28

If you desire to have peace of mind in the midst of your stressful situation meditate on Isaiah 26:3 which says that God will keep the person whose mind is stayed on Him in perfect peace. Ruminate on this Scripture until you are able to focus on God and not on your problems and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will saturate your mind.
You will keep me in perfect peace because my mind is stayed on You. Isaiah 26:3

If as you meditate your mind wanders from the Word of God to your stressors, bring it back to the Scriptures and refocus and on them. Do this every day and you will be able to stand in the middle of a crisis without getting distressed.

How to Get Peace of Mind
If you have been asking "How do I get peace of mind?", know that it is possible by following these steps:

Come to Jesus
The first thing you have to do if you want peace of mind is to accept Jesus’ invitation for He asks all who are overburdened to come to Him and He will give them peace of mind and refreshment for their souls. (Matthew 11:28-30)

So come to Jesus today since all you have to do is to say with your mouth that "Jesus is Lord" and then believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead and you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)

Read Your Bible
The second thing you need to do to alleviate mental distress and attain peace of mind is to take up His yoke or the instructions for living that He sets for us. These instructions are written in the Word of God so read your Bible every day for all Scripture originates from God to guide us, warn us and correct us. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

As you read your Bible, pray for your eyes to be opened with understanding so that you may be able to discern its truths and its message. Understand also that just reading the Word or listening to it being preached is not enough, you also have to be a doer of the Word for mere hearers deceive themselves. (James 1:22)

Therefore, stop being a proud abrasive and become gentle and humble. Cast Your Cares
The fourth thing you can do to increase your peace of mind is to cast your cares on God because He cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7)

Therefore write down all the problems that are disturbing you mentally and pray to ask God to solve them for you.

As you wait for His solutions, decide that you will not think about those problems. When those burdens that you cannot solve by yourself enter your mind, remind yourself that you have given them to the Lord in prayer.

How to cure worry

Trust God
The fifth thing you can do to increase your peace of mind is to trust God even more.

Therefore decide to trust that He has good plans for your life because He says, I know the thoughts that I think towards you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, thoughts to give you a future and hope. (Jeremiah 29:11)

When you are feeling threatened because of your problems, trust God even more by reminding yourself that He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. (Proverbs 30:5)

How to trust God completely

Meditate on God's Word
The sixth thing you should do to get peace of mind is to meditate on Scripture for He says, "You will keep in perfect peace the person whose mind is stayed on you because He trusts in You." (Isaiah 26:3)

Therefore if you want to have perfect peace of mind keep your mind focused on God and one of the best ways of doing that is to meditate on His word.
